Samantha The book I read was The Neptune Project by Polly Holyoke. What I liked most about it was how unique the plot was and how the author was able to blend science fiction and fantasy and make it plausible. I liked how the author took the difficult prospect of 'mutant' water breathing people and made it seem like something that could happen, I usually despise books in which humans communicate with animals, but this one made it make sense. What got me interested in reading the book actually wasn't the cover, unlike most books I read. Last year we did a project where we had to recommend a book and explain why, and my friend did a presentation on this book. It was honestly the only presentation that actually made me want to read the book, so I did. I would totally recommend this book to others, I think that everyone will like it. Don't let the slow beginning discourage you, once you get passed it the book gets immensely better. I truly believe that everyone who reads it will enjoy it.
