I just recently finished a book that I absolutely loved. I mean, I haven’t read a book that has hit me like this in a very long time. Now I have that melancholic feeling that always comes after finishing something spectacular. Anyway, I’m looking for something else to pick up in its wake. I’m on a historical fiction kick right now but I’m pretty much open to anything.

It is hard to make a recommendation for a stranger. But, since you liked "1984" and "Brave New World", why not try We by Yevgeny Zamyatin. It was an inspiration to both of those books.
