A safe room on the main floor of the castle, near the gardens, dining hall, etc.

Emery was wandering around the hallway after the attack stopped. She wanted to follow Rosie to the hospital wing, but she knew Rosie needed time for herself. So she checked on each safe room. So far, she knew one person is dead, no sign of Princess anywhere, and God knows what else.
She stopped in front of a door, locked, but she was sure she heard Riley's voice from the inside. Maybe she could try to open it. After few hard attempts, she heard a click sound, and opened the door.
"Hey, are you okay?" she asked worriedly.

Echo walked side-by-side with William into the safe room away from the danger. When she had heard the alarms, screams, and gunshots she couldn't believe this was happening. She had gotten up right away with out a word to go where they were instructed. The first thing Echo had thought of when the chaos started was that she was at least with William.

She looked around the room at all the sad faces. Tragedy strikes again, she thought numbly. There were some empty couches up against the far wall that she spotted as she gazed around the room. "Shall we go sit down?" she said looking up at him.

message 27: by PlatonicFern (new)

PlatonicFern (platonicfern473) | 686 comments William looked a little ruffled up. His blue eyes were wide, his black hair a slightly bigger mess than usual, and there were a few wrinkles on his clothing. He looked awkward, following Echo around like that, his eyes always on her for some reason. It was sort of comical: he was in a bad mood because he had gotten caught and nearly killed looking for her.

Blasted siren had scared the living daylights out of the poor boy, making him stand up from his seat in his piano bench, ruining the beautiful sheet music he had just been writing, for some reason inspired after meeting with Echo, and he had sprayed ink all over it. Now he had to start over. But when he finally listened to the nuisance that had destroyed his work, he panicked. Oh Lord... Lord! A rebel attack? Honestly? Manky rebels... They ought to find themselves a hobby other than pissing off the short tempered boy. It wasn't good for anyone's health. Maybe the fat that needed to lose some pounds, but that was basically it.

So he got up, grabbed a random instrument case, the closest to him, and dashed out his door, running through the hallways, headed to Echo's room or any other place he might find her in. He ran into a few guards, and when he dodged a random bullet coming from outside and finally bumped into a maid he had found Echo, just as he was desperately asking the maid of her whereabouts if she knew. It was incredibly embarrassing, and he had turned red instantly. Echo had obviously heard. Nothing more embarrassing than having a woman find out about a rather soft spot a man had for her.

And now there he was, looking stiff, his handsome face still flushed. He discovered he had snatched a violin case instead of the guitar he had been aiming for. He liked playing music to his family whenever they were attacked, to calm their nerves. Maybe he could try to remember the melody to that piece he was writing... "We shall," he finally responded, avoiding looking at her. Just thinking about looking at her made his face heat up. Friendship made things complicated. How come it wasn't this pleasantly fastidious when he made friends with maids?

message 28: by Sarah (last edited Aug 07, 2014 10:56PM) (new)

Sarah (monsosar) | 971 comments Echo had been reading a book as usual when the attack first started. She quickly ran around her room with a bag putting her sketch books, blue prints, and her book into what she thought as a poor excuse for a bag. Her hair was this way and that along with her usual silvery grey dress. It hung off her shoulders all askew from running around. When she had run into a few maids after she left that had said William was looking for her, she couldn't stop the smile from spreading across her face. She finally ran into him in the hallway and then they were on their way. When she saw him running all red in the face she wondered if it had been just from over exertion or something else, but she didn't think to much of it.

Though when they arrived she realized her giddy smile was completely inappropriate for the occasion, so she forced an almost frown when she walked into the safe room.

As she wondered slowly towards the back of the room she observed the room, the architecture, people, and the atmosphere of the area. She constantly was gapping in all directions as she took in all the details and information. Echo appeared and indeed felt entirely unfazed by the situation. She payed close attention to her companion as he followed her through the large hall. For some reason he was avoiding her gaze, it had started to both her.

Echo sat down on the little sofa and swung her pack onto the ground next to her feet. With the couch being quite small she hoped William would sit on the same one with her, giving her an excuse to sit close to him. At least more then usual, she thought.

message 29: by PlatonicFern (new)

PlatonicFern (platonicfern473) | 686 comments Apparently after the horrible experience of panic out of worry for her, William was in no mood to move any farther away from his friend. He sat down beside her as she seemed to want. He just hoped she didn't ask him, even if it was kindly, to sit elsewhere. He knew also that he wouldn't be able to chat as comfortably with her. If he wanted to avoid any unnecessary (*coughcough--rather necessary--coughcough*) suspicion, he had to refrain from looking so well and casual with Echo. He needed to make conversation, though. He needed to push that awkward air off of him before he hit himself in the head to end his life with the violin to avoid further embarrassment. "Pardon if this sounds rude to you, Lady Echo, but what exactly did you bring that for?" he asked her, gesturing to her pack. He was only curious, not trying to be nosy or annoying.

message 30: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (monsosar) | 971 comments ((hahaha are you okay?? do you have a cold?? LOL sorry...))

After much observation Echo began to notice William was on edge. Or at least extremely uncomfortable in every move. At his question she smiled and picked up the bag. "Oh its full of papers of dire importance," she exaggerated slightly, "and a book of course." She pulled a few pads of paper out and a few obviously big and very scribbled on graph paper. She attempted to lighten the mood and ease him into being more comfortable, Echo probably had not noticed the potential misunderstandings which could occur in the situation they were in. She was obviously oblivious to Williams attempts at being more distant and formal sense they were in public.

PlatonicFern (platonicfern473) | 686 comments (( Goodness, G.d. You amuse me so. ))

William managed a slightly softer smile for that, not quite as stiff. No one was paying attention to them, so why not relax a small bit? "I see you're a rather busy girl. I never asked you what you did in your spare time. I'm sure I asked about your hobbies, but not what you do now, here, in your spare time while you find yourself in the palace. Is it any different from what you usually do at home, what you do here?" He paused a moment and looked irritated for some reason. "I'm sorry to ask such questions. You just happened to interest me a whole lot, and I don't know why. I apologize," he said, looking down at his violin case, which sat on his lap.

message 32: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (monsosar) | 971 comments ((Hahaha agreed))

Noticing his slight shift in mood she began to nervously play with the papers quietly. She was confused as to why he was apologizing for, it made her happy he was interested in her. "Compared to at home it is very different. All of these are sketches and blue prints for all kinds of machines, many of which are secrets for the King in protecting against attacks. They are all possible prototypes that can help with security and defense. I do a lot of the drawing up at home but most of the time I'm working in the shop." Now a little downcast she continued, "But I can't do that here so I have just been designing more and improving a few of these." She unfolded a big opaque sheet with a drawing of what looked like a jumble of windows, doors, gears, and plates to the normal eye. "This is a plan to better enforce the windows and doors to the palace when attacked. There will be improved sensors that will trigger bullet proof plating to cover all the windows and entrances." When she finished she realized that this was probably boring to him. She blushed at her own interest as she folded up her papers, "What about your violin, sir William?"

message 33: by PlatonicFern (new)

PlatonicFern (platonicfern473) | 686 comments On the contrary, William seemed to wake up a bit more when listening to her, not because he cared much about machinery, but because the fact that it was so important to her seemed to make it a fraction important to him... Naturally he wouldn't voice this thought, because he didn't understand it himself.
"My vio--oh!" Apparently he had forgotten he was holding the case. He looked down the case, blinking as if seeing it for the first time. "Yes, well.... I like to bring instruments in here once in a while, to play for my family. It calms them, makes them feel better. Now that the Selected are here, I feel like playing something new." Then he frowned and his voice got grumpy again. "Blasted siren startled me just as I was about to finish my newest piece and made me spill ink all over it. I'll have to start that finish over, but... I can still play lots of it. I happen to have a sharp memory..."

message 34: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (monsosar) | 971 comments She smiled at him, "It frustrates me when I ruin my work as well, but on the other hand do not have a sharp memory." Although she clearly remembered when she danced around the ballroom to the beautiful music of the exceptional player. The violin peeked an interest in her, she knew that he was a profound musician and now was thrilled that she might get the chance to hear his playing again. "Will you play it now?" she asked him. "I would love to hear your music once more." Echo somewhat reddened at the thought of their past ballroom experiences, next time they met there again there was something she wanted to do.

message 35: by PlatonicFern (new)

PlatonicFern (platonicfern473) | 686 comments (( Well, love. I think the attack is over and everything. I role-played a bit of the future while you were gone and had William find Princess Louise. Now he's at the Hospital Wing, but before we go further I think we should conclude this scene here. Than maybe she can go visit him. ^^ ))

William looked a little hesitant, but he nodded. "Well, if you really want to hear it..." He opened up his violin case and pulled the lovely instrument out, situating it beneath his chin then, setting the bow over the strings. He waited a moment, before he began to play a soft, lovely melody. It sounded like a slow dance, though it moved a tiny bit quicker, the notes soft and rolling around in sweetness. Indeed, he played very well, and if this he was playing was a song he had written recently, he was a rather good composer as well. He didn't look at what he was doing, though. He was looking at Echo as he played, into her eyes, as if they wold guide him through his unfinished song.

Sarah (monsosar) | 971 comments ((Alright works for me! I stalked that part just barely and now that you have come up with a solution to the weird timey-wimey problem I am sound. Lets continue and go with just that ^.^))

message 38: by Sarah (last edited Aug 08, 2014 01:09PM) (new)

Sarah (monsosar) | 971 comments She did really want to hear it and when he played it startled her that when she looked up he was looking right at her. His gaze made Echo's heart race. She felt as if with every note his stare bore into her very soul. The soft tones had entranced in her into a different world which was filled entirely with William. Her round cheeks flushed as he carried out the melody. Entirely without noticing she whispered inaudibly, "Will." As she said it she clamped her mouth shut as if nothing happened. His music was so beautiful, and Echo realized so recognizable. There was something about the style in which he played or is own written melody that made Echo know him. Actually know him and understand his person.

message 39: by PlatonicFern (new)

PlatonicFern (platonicfern473) | 686 comments William lowered the instrument once he was done with the song, finishing it of with another one of is soft, lilting melodies. He watched for her expression carefully, offering her a small smile then. "Did you like it? I....grew inspired after our last meeting... I tried to write somehting that sounded like you to me...." Now it made sense, why is was so soft and sweet, gentle as she was. It also made sense why it was cheery, blending with all the light tonalities and all the beautiful ones, for having even a five minute conversation with her had a usually grumpy William acting like all was right with the world. She gave him a break from the misery that was being alone in his mind, and this is what it felt like.

message 43: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (monsosar) | 971 comments Her face grew hotter and then begged to herself that he would not noticed. Echo was exceedingly flattered, he wrote the song about her, for her, or in a more mystical sense, to him it was her. "That was beautiful," she barely whispered. Not for one second did she take her eyes from his. Deep in thought Echo thought she now knew William but she knew deep down that they had only recently met and have conversed only here and there. She didn't know entirely what had happened to William as a child. It captivated her, everything of him

message 44: by PlatonicFern (last edited Aug 08, 2014 01:49PM) (new)

PlatonicFern (platonicfern473) | 686 comments William managed a small smile then. "Now, I'm going to give you a warning, and please don't take offense. While I very much enjoy looking at you, as you have very lovely eyes, I'm sure we aren't allowed to look at each other this way. So I'm going to slowly look away and pretend your eyes don't shine like lovely stars I could look at for hours. Then maybe we may continue when we find ourselves in a more secluded place. I could play more for you, and I could tell you more about me, if you still wish to know," he whispered to her, slowly looking away as he said he would, closing up his violin case.

message 45: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (monsosar) | 971 comments Still entranced, lost in the past moment Echo whispered," You made that because of me?" She blinked back into reality as he looked away, his eyes lingering. Echo smiled at him, "I'm afraid you're right. But that would be lovely, I would greatly enjoy another song and time with you." She then thought of the dress she was planning to wear to their next occasion and smiled, her excitement to talk with him more filled her.

((Should William leave for the princess soon in this scene??))

message 46: by PlatonicFern (new)

PlatonicFern (platonicfern473) | 686 comments William smiled a little wider at her question. "Yes, I wrote the song because of you," he told her, not seeming embarrassed about it anymore. "Now.... I should save the private answer to your questions for this coming occasion. I'd rather only have you hear them." His smile wavered a little on his lips, but was persistent to stay on his face. "You ask me anything you want and I'll tell you. I don't have much to hide. Simply things I'm afraid of being judged by..."

(( Yush. Then they can meet again at the Hospital Wing, and she can keep him company. Maybe after your next post I'll have him go. ))
