dany (elothwen) Faerrah's head snapped up from the book at the sound of a knock on her front door. Her mother had strictly ordered "no friends", but Faerrah decided to take that as "no parties", which to Faerrah meant all she needed was Mai, her best friend. Of course, it was a slightly selfish reason for inviting her over, but she had no one else to share the things she'd found with. She was an only child, but she had no problem with that. The only downside was that her parents worked all day and sometimes all night, so she was almost always alone. After three years she'd come up with some fun things to do while they were gone, like drink liquor, go downtown, or invite friends over. The strictest parents raise the sneakiest kids.

Faerrah stood up, gently closing the leather bound Book of Shadows and exiting her room. She made her way to the front, pulling open the red-painted front door. There to face her was her slightly shorter best friend Mai, also known as Ivy, one whom she'd been friends with since they were little. She'd never had a friend that long, and she took that as a good omen that they'd be friends for a looong time. Of course Ivy didn't believe in "omens". She was a total skeptic, much unlike Faerrah. Faerrah's grandmother had been a dabbler of the craft, but only recently had Faerrah found out how much so.

Faerrah smiled, opening the door wide. "Good, you came. On the phone you sounded like you weren't gonna show."

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 1539 comments After hanging up the phone Ivy rolled her eyes and bounced from her second floor bedroom to the front door to slip on her white platform Mary Janes before leaving. She hurried down the street to Faerrah's house and before she could even knock on the door her friend opened it. "Just because I think you're crazy doesn't mean I won't come, either to make fun of you or save you from doing something stupid I haven't decided yet." She grinned and shook her head, making the large hair pieces that made up her pigtails shake slightly, her hair would have never have gone up into this style on its own, but she had so many wigs and extensions in her house that she could have a different colour and length everyday of the week. Absently she took a small bunny clip out of her hair and placed it about an inch up, she wasn't wearing a hat today so her head felt strangely unbalanced. "So what are we doing my loony friend?"

dany (elothwen) "You'll see," Faerrah replied, smirking. She closed the door behind Ivy, making sure to make it quiet so the crazy lady next door wouldn't call the cops again because of "all the noise they were making". It seemed that while most elderly lost their hearing she gained wolf ears. But, never mind about that old lady.

"Good thing I invited you over, otherwise I'd have no one to read with," Faerrah stated, tossing a piece of raven black hair away from her face. Some people considered Ivy to be the weird one, and Faerrah to be the witty one, but really Faerrah saw no difference. They were both smart, nice enough, and considered hot by some boys. Granted, they were different boys, but boys nonetheless. Perfect friendly relationship, right? Eh. Their beliefs were complete opposites, and sometimes that did raise questions and bumps in the friendship, but they often chose to swerve the topic altogether.

But not tonight. Tonight, Faerrah was going to prove that magick was real. She'd finally dragged that wooden chest out of the attic, the one with the strange markings on it, determined to figure out what was inside. Faerrah was surprised that even her mother didn't care that she was messing with it, which made her think it was just junk. But no way. It was almost everything witchy that her Grandmother had ever owned, and Faerrah believed she'd hit the jackpot.

Faerrah leaned against the couch arm, wiping imaginary dust off of her white button-up crop top. That was a habit of hers, dusting off her clothes. On her legs she wore a navy blue, waist-high and knee length skirt, and honestly Faerrah considered herself quite fashionable. After tonight, however, Faerrah thought that maybe she would revamp her wardrobe. Perhaps to all black.

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 1539 comments "Read with you? What are you going to do, read my tea leaves? I was thinking a Ouija board would be more likely, be more fun too." Ivy gave her friend a bright grin and folded her arms, but not before slipping her shoes off and kicking them somewhat unceremoniously towards the wall by the door, she loved her extensive collection of shoes but she never wore them inside very long. Now that she was at her normal height she actually had to look up to talk to Faerrah, but she didn't care. "You look like you Kasugano Sakura a run for her money." she smirked, observing her friends sailor like outfit, though he lacked the sailor collar and tie she still reminded Ivy of the character from Street Fighter. "To the magic then, the faster we get to it the faster I get to tell you I as right."

dany (elothwen) Faerrah raised an eyebrow. "I have no idea who that is," she replied truthfully, knowing of her friend's interest in anime and such Japanese culture.

"And listen, you won't get to say you're right, because you won't be right. Come upstairs, to my room. And Ouija boards are dangerous." Ronnie bound up the stairs, pushing the halfway closed door to her room open, where the chest sat open.

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 1539 comments Ivy chuckled and followed her friend up the familiar staircase and into the room where they'd spent many childhood days from when they played with barbies as kids, all the way to when they figured out boys didn't have cooties in middle school, and even know when they weren't at Ivy's house they were here. Though both their parents were strict, Faerrah's parents were normally fine with Ivy, even if she was the very opposite of normal she was supposedly a good influence since she had a habit of staying out of trouble, of course that meant she was good at not getting caught but there wasn't much of a difference to Fae's parents. Ivy's parents on the other hand would only ever let the one friend over, and the door to her room had to stay open at all times, so they spent most of their time here.
Once they were in Faerrah's room Ivy landed on the edge of the bed and folded her legs under her. "I'm all for vintage and antique stuff girl, but seriously it looks like you just dug that out of the ground after a hundred years of being buried."

dany (elothwen) Faerrah laughed, kneeling next to the chest. "You're almost right. It's actually been sixty years, and it was in my attic. But come here and look inside; it's amazing, all of this witch stuff."
She slid to the side of the chest, making room for her friend, and started digging through it, carefully picking up things and setting them down.
"This may not be proof enough, but if we try something from one of these books, it'll work. I know it will."

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 1539 comments With a sigh, and mostly to humor her, Ivy slid down to the floor and sat cross legged by the chest, picking up things that looked interesting and studying them. "Well at least this is cool." She said, flipping through a travel sized notebook that was filled with hand written passages. "And my parents said that Latin class wouldn't come in handy." She said sarcastically, she'd signed up for Latin as her foreign language since they didn't have Japanese, which would be easy since she already spoke it, and the only other classes they had were French and Spanish, so just to bug her parents she'd taken Latin. "Freshman year seems like forever ago now, I can barely remember half of this stuff." she frowned, picking up words here and there but not being able to get anything sane out of the ramblings.
