Just wondering if anyone in the group have done a giveaway here on Goodreads. I have one scheduled to begin tomorrow (Friday, August 8) and run to the end of the month. Has anyone garnered any good reviews? I am giving away five signed copies of my latest anthology.

I've gotten good reviews each time I've done a giveaway on Goodreads. I'm torn on whether I think it's worth it. One person who won has become a big fan. I'm not sure if the other winners have ever read anything other than the book they won. Even my one who is a fan now, is a struggling single mom so I pass freebies her way. I didn't do one with my latest book. It is nice to see all of those people add you book to their to read shelves.
I had one for my first book in February. It got a lot of adds in to-read lists and 2 out of 3 winners read and reviewed it. So I think it was a success.
I'm getting ready to do one with the sequel. I just need to time it to end in with a week I can go to the post office without needing to rush. :P

I have not yet done a Goodreads giveaway, but am thinking about doing one in the fall. Kind of unrelated, but I would advise against gifting ebooks for giveaways maybe through facebook or your own website. The winners can just exchange your book for an Amazon giftcard....don't ask me how I know :P
I did a giveaway for my first Benjamin Knight book, gave away 5 paperback copies (cost me a fortune to post to various countries!) and got one review at the end of it. Not done any since, I have had better luck getting honest reviews just giving ecopies away to people who want them.
I did a giveaway back July. I gave away 10 books. It has only been 2 weeks since the winners would have received their books and already I have had 1 review, 2 ratings. I really enjoyed doing the giveaway and I have made friends with many of the people who entered which for me was important. It is a good way to reach out to people. When I publish my next book I will certainly do it again.
I have done two Goodreads Giveaways and have gotten a few good reviews from it, I think only one negative rating, although if you read the text review even that negative rated review had some positives. So I think overall it's been worth it. I can't say if any additional sales have resulted from it, but at least it gets you "on the board" if you will with some reviews so people can have an idea whether they will enjoy your book when they look at the listing.
I haven't received reviews on Goodreads giveaways, but I have received a lot of adds to people's "to read" shelf. I think it's worthwhile to spend a bit on shipping (and yes, two out of three times I have had to send overseas) in order to get new potential readership and keep my books "active" on Goodreads.
