For Virtual Wars it would be Hannah who is one of the MC's love interests. She is sarcastic and fun. She also likes to be in control. The MC plays into it and he's an interesting character, but Hannah is more complex.
The Ghost's main character is also sacastic, but a bit more serious. She's definitely my favorite in that story.
I'm seeing a pattern here. I'm loving my more complex characters who are sarcastic/snarky.

Evil characters are fun to write. I had a blast writing Destiny, the antagonist in the sequel of same name. There is just something about them that makes the hating turn into maybe not as far as calling it love, but rather a mutual understanding. They seem to warn you to let them be and do what they want or else... And you've got to respect that.
So to answer you question, my fav character is incontestably my main char LX, but Destiny is not far behind. :>

You know you're in a group of writers when a response like that is considered normal and relatively sane, hahaha!
@Brian hahaha ooooh yeah! ;) Don't get me wrong, sometimes I love to hate a character. Sometimes I love to love a character. Either way I know better than to get too attached if ya know what I mean ;)

From my published work, though, I have to say Guy from Strange Days in High Wycombe is a favourite, just due to his pompous anti-hero-ness. He was devised as a Withnail/Raoul Duke type character, and has gained, shall we say, mixed reactions...

Villains are very fun, but I have fallen out of love with the term "villain." I mean, if someone's goal is supreme control or destruction or some such, yes, call a spade a spade by all means...but most antagonists end up being much more complicated, vulnerable and flawed people in their own right. I think people enjoy villains because of the psychology of an antagonist. What drives someone to do these things? How quickly could that happen to someone? How close are any of us to villainy? Ho-hum.
Also, in writing the sequel to my first book, I've fallen in love with another character, as well.
Actually, I love all of my characters. I must. Because as the saying goes, "you always hurt the ones you love."

Do you like the hero? The Villain? Or the minor character with the interesting backstory?
