October Nominations
I like to embrace the history of Halloween as much as possible so I would like to nominate Gods of The Nowhere: A Novel of Halloween by James Tipper.
I love the short story collections that deal directly with Halloween so any of the Bad Apple collections
or this new collection:
or this new collection:
I nominate The Traveling Vampire Show by Richard Laymon as I wish to finally start reading his work.

[bookcover:Bad Apples 2: ..."Doorbells at Dusk!! This is on my TBR for October and it would be cool to read it here with you all! :)
**STUNTS, by Charles Grant doesn't appear to be available in an e-format; however, SOMETHING STIRS, is. :) **
I’ve always wanted to read
... I’m new here so sorry if it’s already been read! Bad Apples looks really good too!
Nisar wrote: "I nominate The Traveling Vampire Show by Richard Laymon as I wish to finally start reading his work."I second it!

I was introduced to horror at a young age when my sister sat me down at 7 years old and had me watch The Exorcist. That movie left a scar on me. I plan on finally reading the book this October.
I'll nominate:The Valancourt Book of Horror Stories: Volume One
The Valancourt Book of Horror Stories: Volume Two
Or the soon to be released for Halloween
The Valancourt Book of Horror Stories, Volume Three

How about Hunter Shea - Creature
It's an amazing book - I would vote it as Hunter Shea's best to date and, as a big fan of his work, that is saying something.
I was going to suggest
, but it is pretty pricey on Amazon - may be tough if people don’t already own it.
I Am Legend is a quick read. And if you think it’s anything like the movie - guess again. Not at all. I love Richard Matheson’s style
Eric wrote: "I was going to suggest

I’ll second Dark Harvest. That is a really good one! I’m up for Straub too. Hadn’t heard of the other things, so those are cool.
I HIGHLY recommend the Orangefield Cycle by Al Sarrantonio. The 1st book is HORRORWEEN
Book 2 is HALLOW'S EVE
And Book 3 is HALLOWEENLAND
I'm pretty certain they're available on Kindle in an omnibus edition
Hi People....I just read a book Destiny Will Arrive .Its such a different kind of horror and I think it matches the theme perfectly. Would definitely recommend and nominate the same.
Agree with Bad Apples. Its on my TBR!

As always, books chosen for a group read or listen within the past 12 months are NOT eligible and authors may not nominate their own work.
Remember, books with multiple nominations are more likely to make it into the final poll.
Here is the link to the books we've read in the past 12 months: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Let's see what horrors we can discover this October!
