What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

This was a series I read back in 2007 or so in 4th and 5th grade. It was about a boy who lived in New York and he loved the Mets. One of the books is about him playing baseball, but most of them are just realistic fiction about his everyday life. I am not sure about any character names but I know it was a series of five or more books.
