Chapter 1
Gone. Gone, never coming back. Bella thought as she watch the moving truck drive out of the driveway. Bella’s best friend Ellen was moving to London for her dad's job.
“Couldn’t you move somewhere closer?” Bella had said.
“ I tried to talk to my dad about that but he said the only place they could go was London. Well, except for China, but I don’t want to go there.” Ellen replied.
“But-” Bella had protested.
“Bella, its no use talking about it it will just make us sad.”
“I know”
Bella tried to remember all the fun memories she had had with Ellen but it only made it worse.
“Bella, time to come in” Bella startled. It was her mom.
“Oh, yeah, I’ll be in in a second.”
“Okay, I know this is hard for you.” Bella’s mom said. “But you need to push on. You can write her letters.”
“I’m terrible at writing!” Bella said.
“Well come in”.
Bella picked at her dinner. She didn’t feel like eating. Especially fish and rice.
“Honey, its not the end of the world. Ellen has just moved to London. Thats just over the ocean.” Bella’s dad tried consulting her.
“Yeah, dad it is the end of the world. And its not like I can sail over the ocean every single day.”
“TIme for bed Bella, Its 8 O’clock.” Bella’s mom said.
“Its only 8?!” Bella exclaimed.
“Yes you have school tomorrow. Remember?”
“I don’t want to go to school. It won’t be fun without Ellen. Who will I walk with?”
“Make new friends”
“ It won’t be the same” Bella grumbled.
Bella laid in her bed thinking. what would school be like without Ellen? Ellen was the one that had helped her understand math,and grammar. She had helped her with P.E. also.What would she do without her?

Chapter 2
Bella dragged her feet as she walked to school. Bella looked up at the cross walk. She saw Ryan Porter. He’s cute Bella thought. Ellen and Bella had often giggled when they saw him. Bella saw Kandi Zeller, the most prissy, rude girl in the school who loved to make fun of Bella. Ellen always thought of a comeback that always sent Kandi saying “Wait till my mother hears about this! She’ll get you expelled!” Kandi's mom was the principal,and they had never gotten the expelled. Bella looked through the crowd of kids walking to school and saw many familiar faces. But one in particular she didn’t recognize. She had blonde hair and dark purple eyes. She was wearing a sky blue tunic with white leggings. Her face had a look of worry on her face. Who’s that? Bella thought. Hmm, probably doesn’t matter. She probably has friends. Bella frowned at the thought.
Later that day, Ms. Mccarthy (Bella’s teacher) introduced the new student. Her name was Sky Kahn. Sky had just moved from New York.
“Wow! Across the whole USA! Now if any of you have questions for Tess, feel free to ask them. As long as they are kind questions.” Ms. Mccarthy shot a meaningful look at Kyle Queen, who sometimes asked rude questions that made everyone laugh. Except for the new students.
“Is New York really cool?” asked Amy Trasks.
“yeah, it is.” she answered.
“Do you miss it?” asked Ryan
“Yeah,”
“Did you have friends there?” I asked.
“A few” She replied. This surprised me a lot. She looked like the kind of girl to have swarms of friends! She was beautiful, nice, and looked really friendly.
“Do you have any here?”
“No” Maybe I could be her friend! NO. I already have a friend. If I start hanging out with her I won’t ever care if I see Ellen again! I won’t be her friend. Bella was so lost in my thoughts I didn’t notice Ms. Mccarthy asking me a question.
“Wait, what?”
“Could you please take Sky on a tour of the school?”
“ok” Bella grumbled. Bella told Sky to follow her and led her out of the room. On the right were other classrooms for different grades.1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th. They turned a corner and there was the cafeteria and the bathrooms. Next was the gym and art room. After that was the music room and the auditorium.
“this is our auditorium. We use it for plays and talent night.”
“yeah...”
“Want to go back to class now?”
“Um, ok...”
“c’mon” Bella walked back to the class room and sat in her seat grumpily. Sky sat next to her. “Why are you sitting there?” she asked
“Um, its my assigned spot...”
“Oh” Bella turned away.
“Bella, would you like to be Sky’s new class partner? AFter Ellen moved away, you don't have one.” Ms.Mccarthy asked.
“Fine” Bella humphed.
“Thank you!” Bella rolled her eyes. Why did I say yes to this?

Chapter 3
Bella walked into the cafeteria, and got in line with her partner, Sky. Bella rolled her eyes. Worst day ever she thought. Bella grabbed a box of milk and a cheese stick. The lunch lady put a piece of pizza on her plate. Sky took the same things. Bella rolled her eyes again. She walked quickly to a table in the corner.
“What do you want?”
“I was just wondering if I could sit here” Sky said looking down.
“No- hey...what's that?” Bella pointed to sky’s necklace. It was very strange. It had a land golden rim, but inside there was swirling purple and blue light. It seemed to be a magic necklace!
“oh,um, its nothing.” Sky pulled her shirt up nervously.
“No, c’mon, please? I’m sorry I was being rude to you.” Bella said desperately. Sky saw the look in Bella’s eyes. She'd seen that look before.
“Fine, but you have to promise not to tell a single soul. Swear on your fairy wings.”
“ My wings?”
“never mind that. Just swear!”
“I swear in my fairy wings...”
“Good, I’ll tell you after school. I’ll come home with you.”
“but-” Bella sighed. “Fine”
“good, now lets eat.”
After school was over, Sky went home with Bella. They walked in the door
“You made a friend! Congratulations!” Bella’s mom exclaimed.
“mom”
“and who might you be?” She asked to Sky.
“I’m Sky Khan. I moved from New York.”
“ Oh, so you just moved here! Well, lucky you to have such a nice friend so quick!”
“mom, stop it. C’mon Sky, lets go to my room.”
In Bella’s room the girls jumped on the bed.
“Sorry about my mom. She gets a little crazy around new people.” Bella said
“no,no, its fine.”
“whatever, so, what is it?” Bella gestured to Sky’s necklace.
“Okay,this may take a while.” Sky said. “here’s the full of it. Now don’t be alarmed. And I don’t expect you to believe me entirely but, I am a fairy.”
“what? No.”
“see, you don’t believe me.”
“no,no,no its not that I don’t believe you--I believe you...ish-- its just I’m really astonished.”
“Okay, would you like me to tell you how I came here? After all we live in the sky and we have wings”
“yeah, so tell me.”
“Alright. I live up in the sky--of course-- There are four sections of the Fairy Kingdom.
The Royalty, the Weather Wings, the Neighborhood and the Market Place. Everyone lives in the Neighborhood except, of course, the Royalty. Each section is enclosed but a large, large glass box. It is weather proof. I the top of each box there is a latch where you can go out. I was on the top of the box when a storm hit. I tried to get back in the latch but it was too late the storm carried me away. It damaged my wing so I couldn’t control myself at all. I flew around like crazy until finally I landed here. I thought school might be a good place to go to find someone to trust.” Sky glanced at Bella. “I met you of course, but now I need to get back. This necklace gives me access to talk to my family. It cracked in the storm. I need you to help me get back to my home. Please.”
“I will. Of course I will.” Bella glanced at the floor. It pained her to know that she had just gotten a new friend and she would be leaving as soon as they found a way home. MAybe she could slow down the process....
Chapter 3
Bella walked into the cafeteria, and got in line with her partner, Sky. Bella rolled her eyes. Worst day ever she thought. Bella grabbed a box of milk and a cheese stick.
