Here’s a brief summary of my feelings:

Vaughan - typical small town politician that has gotten in over his head and doesn’t know how to get out

Ellen - could. Not. Stand. I found her to be whiny and manipulative. The affair?! How selfish of her. She chose to marry into the year-rounder culture, but she took it out on Brody.

Hooper - self-righteous, self-important. I also find it deplorable that he would pursue a married woman for an affair.

Brody - didn’t really care for him either. I felt like he sacrificed to say he sacrificed and suffer.

Meadows and Quint were the only two I actually liked. Both were honest about who they were and what made them tick. I admire that even when the character isn’t the best person.

Solid assessment of the characters. You kinda wish the shark success, don't you?😉

Actually, I didn’t think about it that way. But, I was actually hoping for the shark. Especially, towards the end when it was messing with them on the boat. I may have been a little too excited when the shark killed Hooper.

Ha! Yeah - that surprised me as it is so different than the movie.

I was extremely disappointed when Hooper survived in the movie! Come on that cage scene in the book was bloody epic! I also am sad the endings are so different. The ominous ending of the book where Brody is just left floating alone out at sea?? With that last glimpse of the body and shark sinking below him? AMAZING! I hated the movie for the ending change.

Yeah - I was torn. I am so used to the movie ending, but the book ending is very epic!
