This part had so much going on! I don't even know where to start...maybe I'll go by characters.
I have to start with Nick because I was very bummed when he entered the vortex and became a puddle of chocolate! I was like, this can't be the way it ends for him! I was also sad that he fell for Mary's trick. I was hoping he'd know once he discovered it was a vortex that it was some sort of trap, but no, he stayed. I was rooting for him though and hoping the vortex would bring out something better in him - alas, it wasn't so. Glad that Mickey rescued his chocolate essence and was able to kind of bring him back.
Mickey. Um, I don't know what to really say about him. Not much happened with his storyline besides him rescuing Nick and the confrontation with Allie. I was happy to see that he finally learned the truth.
Okay, so since Allie confessed her feelings for Mickey I wonder where that's going to take her. Now her choice between living again or staying in Everlost has become harder. Although, since she's not technically dead she won't spend eternity in Everlost...she'll only be there for the years she is still alive so even if she chooses Mickey, it will only be temporary. Decisions, decisions!
Poor Zin. I'm glad she was able to pull Mary through, but I was sad that she was pulled through into the real world as well. I liked her character and knowing she doesn't have anybody in the real world is disheartening. I hope we hear more about her and how she ended up - hopefully with a happy ending. She did mention her dog so maybe she'll be adopted into that family too and they'll all live happily ever after! :D
Milos and Mary make me want to scream! I can't believe that Mary is coming back to Everlost (although I knew it wasn't the end of her). Having Mary come back makes Zin sacrifice seem like it was for nothing. :( Hopefully Milos will double cross her (yeah right!) and not rescue her soul. You know when she gets back she is going to be M-A-D!
Okay, I know there's more I'm missing but my post is getting long.
What were your thoughts on Everwild's conclusion? I see you gave it 5 stars on Goodreads - I did too! :)

I was disappointed in Nick falling for Mary’s vortex trick as well. I just knew he would figure it out and be able to help Zin. It felt like he kind of gave up and let his feelings for Mary get the best of him. It felt like all his planning and strategy was for nothing. I was so sad when he became a chocolate puddle, I wasn’t ready to leave him behind. I was glad Mickey was able to rescue him but also disappointed we didn’t get the reunion with Allie. Still I thought this part was good even if it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I kind of like the fact that Neal Shusterman isn’t exactly afraid to break our hearts, lol.
I was glad that Mickey learned the truth about Allie and Milos, but his storyline was a bit of a let down. I expected him to do more damage as the McGill. However, I was glad that the whole misunderstanding wasn’t dragged out longer.
Allie’s decisions are huge. I was so excited that she was reunited with Mickey and was on her way to Nick, so I was bummed that she was captured and strapped to the train. I want her to have a “life” with Mickey but I also want her to go back and live. Either way she’s going to have to choose and since Zin is gone, their is no chance of Mickey being “crammed”. Plus if Allie does go back, I wonder if Mickey would move on and what would the “light” look like for him.
I agree Zion’s storyline hurt a little. She went from being one of the most feared individuals in Everlost to being an orphan in the real world. So much she’ll have to learn and adjust to and she’s not the type to take Mary’s way out. I wonder if we’ll see more of her in Book 3. I do like your idea of her getting adopted into the family along with her dog.
Mary, Mary, Mary...ugh!!! I knew it was too good to be true her being in the real world. I know it wasn’t mentioned, but I wonder why Nick didn’t think of her returning? Although I found it interesting that she could orchestrate destroying that bridge and killing all those people and ruining lives, but she needed Milos to “help” her back to Everlost. Though I’m glad he did it in a way that wouldn’t ruin the life of the guy who helped her. It bothered me how reckless Milo’s buddies were with the people they skinjacked.
I just wonder when Mary returns, if she’ll remember everything about Everlost. Part of me wishes she won’t, even though, I know she probably will. I can’t wait to find out what’s on the other side of that bridge and how it all ends.
This was easy to rate 5 stars. I’m glad you loved it too.

And I wonder if, in book 3, it’ll start when Mary wakes up…so like 9 months after Everwild or if we’ll have some story surrounding Mary’s sleeping period. I can’t believe there is only 1 book left and there is still so much to explore in Everlost!
I’m curious too to see what is beyond the bridge. So sad they had to kill so many innocent people to make the bridge appear in Everlost, but there has to be people there. I just wonder what kind of people and if they discovered other abilities.
Anyway, I just purchased Everfound today…Yay! I’m not sure how filled your November/December months are going to be with the holidays, but let me know when you’d like to continue the series. :D
