I am as well. I needed a new audio. I am enjoying my reread. It is probably ten years since I last read it.
I'm starting tonight! I know I'm behind... oops! But let me know if anyone else is reading it now, too!
On page 20. The summary at the beginning was very helpful! It has been a few months since I finished the Belgariad!
Up to Ch 19... Can't put it down. I know I read this series back in the day, but I don't remember anything so far. I am really enjoying it, because even the bad guys are more palatable than half the regular characters in Abercrombie's books... And it is just more light and doesn't depress me as much... I liked all the little details that have to do with the reproductive deferences of the triads and how funny Garian was in "the" moment...
Think I left off around chapter 21: I feel like Garion got really dumb in this book. There are so many instances where people have to explain really simple things to him. I preferred the first series start to this one so far. I feel like this has had a lot of back and forth of people traveling to places just to turn around and head back to their original location. I’m hoping for more Errand than Garion because he has been more interesting to me.
Errand is adorable! I really hope (view spoiler)About Garion being kind of dumb in this book, I think it is just how Eddings chooses to tell the story. I always think of those over-explanations as typical for the genre at the time... It doesn't bother me much...

Exactly! This is why I feel this whole series and the author's books are wonderful as a stepping stone into the Fantasy genre:-)
