Beverly A friend just finished Heavy: An American Memoir and it will be one of her top reads for the year - so I hope to get to it next week.

I have been listening to Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America - confirms information most of us probably know at this time and at times is getting a little repetitive for me.

Beverly, I haven't read Heavy yet, but I have read these by Kiese Laymon

Long Division

How to Slowly Kill Yourself and Others in America

And he is just absolutely the most underrated living author I can think of. How to Kill Yourself should be flying off the shelves, but it came out a few years before the general public was ready for it IMO. Long Division is complex and sprawling despite being a slim little thing and I've got plans to re-read it sometime in the next year or so.
