This story focused more on the romance than the first book with much less action. Did you like the change?

It almost seems that the second chance romance was a lot more complicated than the first time around. I liked more action and less angst.

I agree, Anita. This story just didn't do it for me like the first one did.

I loved the romance and their second chance but the action was too lacking. In the first book there was one attack after another. I was shocked when I turned the last page of this. I was waiting for a grand finale not knowing that the bombing was it. It was so short I felt like I read 1/2 a book. This felt rushed.

I don’t like a lot of angst and that age difference showed itself. Gage wanted to talk things out. Claire kept having these push-pull conversations with herself and wouldn’t be honest with him about her feelings. Drove me nuts. The romance didn’t work for me because I found her approach immature.

The lack of action was a disappointment, too. Those were the best parts of the story given my frustrations with the romance. The last chapters were exciting.
