Mass Effect discussion

I wasn't that big of a space sci fi fan until I played Mass Effect at the recommendation of a friend! The game's universe sucked me in! It was filled with interesting lore and I enjoyed having conversations with the various characters. I thought the alien civilizations and politics were interesting.

With today's political situation have we become to cynical for space adventure? Or have the sci fi writers ran out of interesting ideas? Do today's big publishers prefer fantasy and dystopian sci fi over the space adventure?

dude , i was the same when i found this game. first game i played many times over. the books i enjoyed very much. as for your question not sure maybe because its tied to a video game and has a lot of lore and content in it already. iam sure they are others books that have what we want but we haven't found it yet.
