Need to Read Rain Wild?

Lindsey I'm so excited to start this book! But then realized I hadn't read the Rain Wild Chronicles... opinions on whether that is necessary/useful to starting this one? (No spoilers for either series, please. I don't need an explanation, just a yes or no will suffice.) I have read the Farseer, Liveship, and Tawny Man trilogies.

I've tried looking at a few reviews but didn't find anything on this topic. I don't want to scan too many reviews for fear of spoilers. Thanks in advance!

Raptori Nope, in Fool's Assassin there was no crossover whatsoever as far as I remember. That will probably change in the sequels though :)

Lynne Callahan I read Rain Wilds after reading all the other series including Soldier son, and I don't think it made a bit of difference.I thought about rereading the Farseer series before starting this one, since it has been a very long time, but you will find you recall more then you think about the characters, its liking putting on comfy slippers.

Eric Leblanc I expect the next book to involve much travelling abroad though so I think you should read before then, or at least, a synopsis.

Lindsey Thanks for the input, everyone! I ended up reading the first quarter of Fool's Assassin, then all 4 Rain Wild books, and now I'm back to Fool's Assassin. I haven't seen much more than a throwaway line that wasn't really a spoiler so far. It was nice to have so much Robin Hobb in one month!

infael Reading the other Fool's Assassin books isn't necessary. I think one would have a better feel for the story by reading the 1st 2 Fool's trilogies.
