I'm about half way through it. If I had more time to dedicate to reading during the day, I'd probably already be done with it. It's hard for me to put down.
I really like Alma Katsu but this should not be your introduction book. She's great at creating characters but for me I would have liked more story and less back story with this one. I think her vampire trilogy is way better.

I think The Terror is much, much better.

If I had to pick between the two, yes The Terror is the better book.
