Final thoughts on finishing The Uncommon Reader - may include spoilers

I finished reading this book in one go. I found it quite enjoyable, but not as great as I hoped it to be. Maybe it was the translation or the fact I recently enjoyed 84, Charing Cross Road so much, either way I'd love to get my hands on the book in English at some point.

It was a perfect book to read in bed in the morning. Quite a bit of humor, but I wish there was even more.

I finally finished reading the book too . I would have really loved to read some form of sequel to this book . The last few lines in this book gave me goosebumps.

When I picked this book I thought this would just be a humorous take but it really surprised me . This author would have made this book just a little bit longer and this would have been so much better .
Looking forward to read many more books by Alan Bennett.

Finished this now! This book was very witty and clever, I found myself laughing out loud numerous times. I too want to now explore more of what Alan Bennett has written!
