Where I live it is not winter. We are coming up to SUMMER. Perhaps read a book with "Summer" in the title.
Also a thought. could we avoid page numbers. I find if I read a book with a certain number of pages, I then find that Goodreads gives a different number for the same edition. I've learnt to avoid all page number tasks.

Read a book with a building, spiderweb, clouds, or a car on the cover

- receives a blessing.
- is trying to break a curse.
- is the subject of a prophecy.

- receives a blessing.

- is the subject of a prophecy."
Or maybe has to go on some kind of journey or quest?
I'll admit, I'm struggling for "hero" ideas. I did find this list: maybe the top ten could be used as a basis for the 5pt-ers - https://www.thetoptens.com/top-movie-...
I have been watching 9-1-1 and enjoying it. So maybe a book where one of the main characters is a first responder - policeman, fireman, paramedic or dispatcher?
Also, soldiers can be heroes, so what about a book with a soldier/veteran main character, or about a group of soldiers.
I know we've done a snowy cover or Christmas decorations before, but they're always a good choice for this season.

That could work great for a 1-2 book challenge, I think:
Book 1: Has Curse or Prophecy AND Book 2: Hero's Journey
or one book that fulfills both requirements, right?

Grandparent- Read a book where a significant character is a senior citizen.
Teachers- Read a book by an author who shares the same first or last name as a favorite teacher that you had in school.
Parents- Read a book that shows a parent and child on the cover.

Many jokes have been made about giving fruitcakes to relatives you don’t care for. Read a book with the genre "Humor" listed on the main page, OR read a book in which ALL the words in the title begin with the letters found in FRUITCAKE.

It's time to start thinking about fun tasks for the Winter Challenge.
The bonus theme is Characters: Heroes
As in past challenges, some tasks may revolve around the seasonal theme of winter. Others may reflect the bonus theme. Other tasks may have nothing to do with either of these themes, they’re just fun ideas for unique reading challenges.
Feel free to post as many ideas as you can come up with. Don't worry about repeating what another player might have already suggested. The more ideas, the better!
The moderators will draw from these ideas as well as their own to create the 5, 10, and 15 point tasks. This thread will be open for ideas until November 15. Winter tasks will begin to be posted on November 17. We look forward to seeing what you come up with!
