I definitely want to make a male character, but I'm deciding whether if I should make him my main character.
Well, I think doubling would be nice. If we do doubling I'll probably have one guy and one girl. ^_^ We can discuss this later since I should go to bed, so night!
five feet, eight inches; slim build
Anneliese "Anna" Beauregard | Age 24 | Time Traveller
five feet, eleven inches; average build
Henry LaRue | Age 26 | Journalist
It's all good. I've like, lost my ability to write anything that isn't for myself. Even in writing class, which I started only three days ago with school, poses some trouble.
Aww, I know how that feels. Honestly, I hate doing essays, but I'm great at creative writing. It bugs me!
I love creative writing. It's my favorite subject. I just don't know why I can't form words into sentences and sentences into art! Jk, just stories.
Mathias Antoine Chastain/ 26/ Time TravellerAppearance:

5'10", athletic, slim, low tenor
Personality: Gentlemanly and articulate, Mathias has all the qualities of his privileged upbringing. However, he only pretends to be pompous and arrogant in social circles whereas when there are no eyes on him, he's fun-loving, mischievous, and daring. He can be bold and stubborn, though he is clever, which helps him get out of most situations.
Background: The second son in the House of Chastain, Mathias was basically raised by a neighbor and groomed for social life. Often when he was young, he played little pranks, though he never hurt anyone. Eventually he grew bored and he entertained himself by joining in the time travelling business, thinking he could find adventure there. His parents disapprove of his decision, but he honestly doesn't care since he rather be his own person.
Other: He has an eye for the arts of any kind, be it painting, music, or dance. But surprisingly, what interests him the most is science. He likes to explore nature and read scientific journals.
I wanted to reuse a character, if that's all right. ^_^ I have another I want to reuse too, if that's okay?
Natalia Royer/ 23/ LocalAppearance:

5'6", lithe, slight curve, playful alto
Personality: Playful, adventurous, and kind, Natalia enjoys her freedom. Ever since the aristocrats started to keep money away from the poor while they ate like pigs, Natalia felt it was time to take matters into her own hands. She can be brash, but she is passionate and she is willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Background: Her father left her mother when she was young and for a time, she was raised by her single mother while they struggled along. When she was a teenager, her mother died from consumption of the lungs. From then, she was on her own.
Other: Of course, she likes a soft bed and nice clothes, but in addition to that, Natalia likes to eat fruit and sweets, and having picnics on the grass.
I think we said something like going through the time periods, but since it wouldn't really work with a set 4 characters, maybe 1950's?
Well, I thought their are different time periods for the time travelers themselves. Could have different locals. But I don't think we really said anything for certain. And I'm not very well acquainted with the 1950s, so I guess I'll have to do my research.
Can you describe to me the mentality of the working class of people in the 1950s? What made the 1950s the 1950s? What distinguishes that decade above others for you? Why do you like it?
1 Mentality as in mental sanity?2 Today, people would most likely associate the 1950's with poodle skirts, cat eye anything, and red lipstick. While that may be true, those were only small things that made the decade what it was. One such thing would be the "nuclear family", both relating to the dad/mom/sister/brother families and the fear of nuclear apocalypse during the time. In the 1950's, the things that went down in history were mostly people, like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Rock 'n' roll music also played a big part in what's remembered and cherished.
3 & 4 I have no idea. I'm just drawn to the clothes, the music, the styles...pretty much all of it. Except, of course, the bad things, as usual.
1. As in what drives them forward. Or something like that. Like how in our age, our mentality is surrounded more around social media. The 1920s mentality was a season of change, the younger people were breaking tradition, women were becoming more independent, etc. I don't know how else to describe it really. But the way people think about things at the time.2. Well, fashion wasn't exactly what I was looking for. And yes, those are important to remember. But were there greasers? I don't remember if I'm having it right. What else made it a memorable decade?
3&4. But why the clothes, music, style etc? What about them draws you to them right now to want to do that decade? (I have nothing against your choice, but I just want to see what you think/feel.)
