The Selection. Please don't hate me.......

Sorry, Emily! I just saw your reply I went into a more detail in my review, but it was just an uninteresting POV. The romance was a little over the top for me. The plot line had gaping holes, and America was kind of irresponsible in a way....

I read it in 8th grade and hated it

Frankenstein or, Anne of Green Gables.
I mainly don't like Anne of Green Gables because I had already seen the movie a million times.
I don't like Frankenstein because nothing happens, ever!

I agree with Mary-Jo about The Selection series...:p. The worst book(s) were Come Juneteenth by Ann Rinaldi, this was book was well written and everything it was just so sad, and the ending didn't even get happier! Then there was A Thousand White Women, DO NOT READ!! IT WAS AWFUL!

The Kanin Chronicles.......*shudders* Do NOT read this series!! It had terrible content and was just a bad book in general!!

The idea was good but...meh.

I won't call them worst per se, but the two books that pushed me to the edge and made reading every paragraph painful include Of Human Bondage by Somerset Maugham, and Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh. Ugh

Oh, ok. Definitely Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo. Here is my booktalk/summary. 3 girls walk around town trying to find out why Raymie's dad left. They find out nothing. Oh, and also they take baton-twirling lessons too. Sounds interesting, right!

I know their are tons of fan girls out there, but I hated "The Fault in Our Stars,". The romance felt forced, they talked like 70 year old English college professors, and for a final slap in the face, it romanticized cancer. Not a big fan of romanticizing mental illnesses or any illness.

I liked Heartless, and loved the ending. Why didn't you like it?

I want to. I hear its a good book and I love her other books.

I want to read Heartless as well. I will someday...

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.

A very nasty book that I DNFed.

First, the author uses a lot of swearing.

Too much unnecessary violence, only used because it seems like the author needed to fill something in. Also used for a "jump scare" as in a movie.
But there's so much violence you get used to it. Okay, another beating. Okay, more gore. OH, and more.

And the worst thing about it is (view spoiler)[ that the author continuously uses the male villains to threaten all the female characters with raping. Honestly, the first mention I was like, ehhh...not good. Then it went on more and more-not like detailed, but the ideas were there and it started making me sick. So I stopped.

You do not have to threaten every girl around with the idea of raping just to make yourself seem "scary." I thought it was nasty and it disturbing. I don't know if anyone actually does get raped at all or not but I don't want to find out. Just a heads up. (hide spoiler)]

Worst in what way? Worst written, worst story--so many questions for someone like me to ponder. So many books I thought were horrid. But, most recently, I read what might be the worst WRITTEN book I have ever finished--I have no idea why so many people give ti stars. Well, I do--they don't know good writing, and just like it because it's clean fiction.

The writing was so very bad--oxymoronic, telling not showing, very poorly developed charcters, weak dialog, cliche after cliche, awkward intense scenes, creepy parts where a Christian brother is fighting his brotherly love for his sister after they lose their parents in language fit for a man in a romance novel fighting romantic love feelings, far too many short, choppy paragraphs, badly used British terms mixed with Americanisms (and ones out of time for the book), NO apparent research (some blaring inaccuracies about London) and so much more! It is everything that gives self-publishing such a bad name! But the cover is fabulous and makes it look professional. London In The Dark

The perfect life by Robin Lee Hatcher. I love her books and her writing but the ending was incredibly disappointing.

Crabbe. I had to read it for school and I literally could not finish it. Nothing happened and it was so boring.

I've never heard of it, but if I do.... I shall stay away. Lol
