We're only talking one story, not a collection, so feel free to choose at your leisure. Some of our favorite short story collections are Tenth of December and Let it Snow.

Shannon (libraryshann) | 15 comments I went through an anthology I have from college and ended up reading Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston, a female empowerment story from 1926 set in the south, and I loved it.

Some others I've read and recommend:
The Lottery by Shirley Jackson
The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner
The Rocking Horse Winner by D.H. Lawrence
Anything by Edgar Allen Poe

Anne (annemazing) | 10 comments I read FTL, Y’all! Which was a collection of graphic short stories. I didn’t enjoy it. I really don’t like short stories in general.

Caren | 18 comments I usually don't like short stories but I did enjoy Heads of the Colored People

Danielle (librarian19) | 45 comments I wound up reading a short story by Joe Hill and Stephen King which was good. Not normally my thing but interesting.
