In 2019 I resolve to read more nonfiction, memoir, and biography. I'm also challenging myself to make a dent in my shelf of books that I own but haven't read. I like buying books to support authors, but it means even more if I read them :)
I think I'd like to do more re-reading next year. I hardly ever re-read anymore, but the arrival of Kiddo #2 makes a good excuse to push for that again. Revisiting old stories while my mind was too mushy to process new ones worked quite well, from what I remember (which, admittedly, isn't much).
I have several books on my "to-read" pile that I've promised Amazon and Goodreads reviews for. I'd like to get through them in January before digging into my cozy winter fiction. In 2018, I did a lot of research non-fiction reading. This coming year, I'd like to do a little more cozy fiction reading.
I want to read at least 2 books a month. The last few years my reading has been very lax and I want to get in many more books this year!

I more or less forgot about this resolution, but thought it might be neat to look at my reading list for 2019 to see how I did anyway. I read 3 biographies or memoirs in 2019 (compared to 7 in 2018) and I only read one other nonfiction title in 2019 (compared to 8 in 2018), so I completely flubbed that goal...
I did manage to read 7 books from my TBR piles, but I definitely added more than 7 to that list...
Bring on 2020!

And I may or may not pick up A Christmas Carol in the next couple weeks to make that an even 20.
