Did you figure out the puzzle as you read the book? I could keep up with the puzzle, but did not figure out who done it!
Would you recommend? Yes! This book was different than anything else I've read and definitely worth reading.

Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book? I kept trying to work out in my mind what was actually going on amongst these group of people, but I didn't get it right.
Would you recommend? I really enjoyed it. For a mystery it had some humour in parts which made it a nice, quick, easy read. I'd definitely recommend.

Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book? I tried. I was right about a few, smaller points, but wasn't successful with the overall story.
Would you recommend? ABSOLUTELY. I cannot explain how grateful I am that I found this challenge and the group about it, because I had never heard of this book before this group, and it was magnificent. I'm sad at the thought of how easily I could have missed it.

Would you recommend? Yes, it was quite unlike any other mystery I've read in recent years and an impressive debut. I can't wait to see what the author comes up with for his next novel!

Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book? Tried to keep track in my head, but I wasn't really sure.
Would you recommend? Absolutely -- very different than your usual murder mystery. Loved the humor and hosts being inhabited for just a day. And very quick read!

Would you recommend? Yes, for people who enjoy puzzle/mystery books. I didn't love this as much as some others so I probably wouldn't recommend it as a must read if this isn't a genre someone is interested in.

Did you try to figure it out? Not especially, just kept all the different plot lines straight.
Would you recommend? Yes I have never read anything like it. Did listen to some an audible, hated the audio version.

It was a murder mystery with an intricate puzzle. I would definitely recommend the book!

What type of puzzle or game was involved? A big part of the central mystery involved Holmes solving a complex cipher.
Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book? God no. Just trying to understand it when Holmes solved it was difficult enough.
Would you recommend? I would! This was an enjoyable read.

Would you recommend? While this wasn't really a book for me, I can see where others could really enjoy it. I would recommend for anyone looking for a different writing style.

Would you recommend? Yes, because in the beginning you try to keep up and solve the mystery. However, the more you read the story, you become engrossed in the plot. Good book!

Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book? Can't really do that with puzzle boxes since the physical box and cypher not on view. Couldn't really even get into figuring out the overarching mystery because it was so obvious
Would you recommend? To a 'much' younger reader than I. This is YA and as such a very light romp of a read, and a little bit too shallow for my tastes. Still enjoyable.

Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book? In the beginning, but found my interstate's level waning as i went on.
Would you recommend? Probably not. I did not enjoy this book as much as everyone else seemed to. I felt that about 2/3 of the way through the author was just adding things in to try to give that "surprising twist." I just felt that the story could have been told a bit more concise.

What type of puzzle or game was involved: Crossword puzzles (Vera and Stanley had a complicated relationship. They submitted crossword puzzles for publication and placed clues in them that allowed the other to find them.
Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book: Not really - only some questions were included and since the answers generally were right after my eyes were already on them as I read the clue - the downside of being a speedy reader!
Would You Recommend: I gave it three stars meaning it was an okay read, that I liked it well enough but generally I only recommend 4 and 5 star reads, unless in response to a specific request. In this case it would be by someone with an interest in words and crosswords, looking for a love story with complications set in the 1960s and 1970s.

Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book? I did i tried to figure it out along with the protagonist, and I was unable to figure it out. I'm sure some people did but I was blown away by the outcome.
Would you recommend? I would definitely recommend. It's a fun read and really pulls you right away, at least in my case it did.

Would you recommend? Yes, this is a wacky book that everyone should experience if possible. It reminds me of Vonnegut-meets-Christie-meets-videogaming. Verrry strange!

I finished The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle on 1/15/19. This book was so fun! Not since Agatha Christie has a book like this been written. (Although Ruth Ware comes pretty close.) I felt as if I were a part of the cast of characters trying to solve the mystery of who killed Evelyn. I could not figure out who did it on my own! He did a good job of constructing this story, and I imagine it was no easy feat. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it if you're into the "old school" type mysteries.

The story within this book is about a lie they were all involved in when they were in finishing school that is starting to surface now that they're adults with something to lose.
Did you try to figure out the puzzle as you read the book? YES! Because its told from the perspective of one of the four girls you are weaving through the lie with them to get to the root of the matter.
Would you recommend? I would. Its not a quick read, but it was worth it at the end.
I tried to read the monthly pick and I couldn't get into it.

Would you recommend? I enjoyed it - it was a mystery by an author I hadn't read before, and it had a slightly different take to many: it wasn't the standard small town cozy fare.
