A Long Story Short discussion

It's officially January and I believe almost everyone has started The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It is time to hear your first impressions! Keep in mind that not everyone may be as far ahead as you, so no spoilers please on the first impressions thread!! Just let us know your thoughts so far! On the 7th we will be begin posting more in depth threads once people are more into the story! Happy Reading and Happy New Year!!

First Impression

Interesting I really like the writing so far

I’m definitely intrigued
Was expecting a darker story we shall see :)

I do have the question of whether or not we will be discussing to certain chapters every few weeks/week or how this will go about by chance. Any ideas from anyone what usually works best for better discussion? Or to just not have one works better for people? I am just curious. Thanks!

I like it so far. I’m not sure what I expected, but I haven’t gotten super far into it yet either. I do really like how it keeps cutting to a first person passage to feel like you’re there at the circus.

This is our first book club too so we are kind of feeling it out as we go and seeing what works best! Any input from members is wonderful so we can collectively decide what will work best for us! For this first time around, we had kind of planned to do a first impression and then next week post more specific topics and then finally post a final thoughts section where we can discuss everything including the ending. It may depend on the book as well. For a longer heavier read, it may be more beneficial to do it by chapter!
