So far I am 0 for 2 in the book department for 2019. I’ve not read anything that is worth sharing yet. Lol.
I'm looking forward to reading Tiana Laveen's Zodiac Lovers Series and possibly finally starting Sienna Mynx's Battaglia Mafia Series upon it's hopeful completion this year.

True, it will be bittersweet for most, but Sienna is such an amazing writer so I’m definitely anticipating that her future books will be just as great.
So Far I've read:
It releases on February 12th. Setting is the music industry. Here is my review.
. I technically read this at the very end of last year, but it just released this week. It is the third in a series that follows four women who became friends in the aftermath of a school shooting when they were in high school 12 years ago. I've also read the previous two, the first one features a Latina heroine. This one has a black heroine. Here is my review.

Thanks for your review. I was on the fence about whether I wanted to read this one, but it’s now on my must read list.
I read Birdie the third of january, it was a pleasant surprise. The romance was well depicted, it felt real, and the family secret was enjoyable too.I also read "The space between" and it was fine, very sexy, with and interesting AMBW dynamic, but it was easy to guess the characters next moves.
I plan on reading book 2 of "A blade so black", have you read it? Is it as good as the first one? Better?
Oh, I forgot this one. it is another I read at the very end of last year but doesn't release until Jan 22.
- I like books where the hero and heroine have jobs you don't normally see in romance. In this one the heroine is a whiskey sommelier. She a black woman in a primarily white and male field so the author makes that an smallish element of the story. Here's my review

I'm not the mod, but I'll try to help with this question, being a long time member. This thread is talk about any IR you happen to be currently, or plan on reading. Also a good place to ask the opinions about books others have mentioned in previous posts. The Challenge thread is to discuss books you are reading, plan on reading for the challenge specifically, and posting your progress. I'm not participating in the challenge this year, but in years past posted on both threads, sometimes about the same book.

"What do you think about them?"I really enjoyed the first one. It took me a minute to get into the second one. But I love Danielle Allen's writing so I had to see it through. Julian and Zoe are a true love story. A great read.
Recently I finished reading “sweetly swirled” and “lattes of love” by M.L. Spann. They’re free on kindle unlimited. Both are cute, quick reads. “Lattes of love” is a follow up to “sweetly swirled”.

I've seen Asher in my feed... would it be possible for you to put a link to your review after you're done reading? I'm curious to know your thoughts. Thank you!

"I first read Asher with Kindle Unlimited then I purchased it, I liked the book that much. If you would like to read it I'll loan it to you. The premise is really interesting with people living in an Colorado old mining town who live by their own rules and take care of their own. The story is based off of the legend of the Robbers Roost, a hideout that Butch Cassidy and other outlaws used. Asher is a private security specialist. Many residents of Versteck have secrets that brought them there. Mya and her son move to town to start over and trouble follows them. Asher and Mya have great chemisty and Colin (her son) is adorable. I'm a huge fan of Erosa Knowles books.

Duncan is different in a few ways first he's a republican Senator from Rhode Island and (view spoiler). He wants to enter into an "arranged marriage" with Portia. Portia rebuffs him at first but then comes around to giving Duncan a chance. They start off in an intense sexual relationship (view spoiler) then it becomes much more. This is definitely a modern day love story.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

You know "...If you like__________ You will love this" type of thing.
novella. short, cute and hot. Desi heroine white hero. She works in her family restaurant and he's a bad boy biker. Lots of mentions of great Indian food.
- I got an ARC. Releases on April 2nd. BW/WM. Older woman younger man. Did not quite click for me. My review is here.
I recently finished
, and I can definitely say that it was worth the wait and the $... Looking forward to the next installment in that series...Now I'm reading
, which IMO is absolutely fantastic! It grabbed me from the 1st paragraph and it definitely captivated me... I believe that JJ Murray has gotten his "groove" back.
PopulationJust read both books in the series, was very surprised! Lots of action, maybe a tad bit too gory. There were some parts of the story that wasn't fleshed out enough but was a super fun read. The heroine was pretty bad ass, although at one point I was wondering how much more she could take. Hah. Def adding this author to my favs and starting her other series now.

I'm so happy I'm reading your review, I just bought the first book.
- By Lauren Rowe. (bwwm) - some issues with insta love and food coloring descriptions for the heroine. But overall I enjoyed this. My review here
- by Kandi Steiner (bwwm) - Content warning for rape. Good story but I struggled with character connection. My review here
The plot is very good. The execution would be superb if not for the grammar issues. Author has a major problem with tenses. Story is peppered with words in the present tense that should have been in some variation of the past tense. If this sort of stuff is what passes for family life in some families - then my family has been triple blessed. Parts of the telling of this story I found disconcerting.
The Game Warden's Mate by A.M. Griffin
Scifi romance that didn't have the usual scifi trope of alien kidnaps heroine to repopulate his species. This was like Hunger Games in outer space. You make it through the three levels, you go free. You lose you become an alien's sex slave or mate. Heroine is Mexican but all the victims/game participants come from different backgrounds. Great writing, no typos.
Hexes & Oh's by Koko Brown
This is a reboot by the author. Formerly published as Forever, I Do. Story is a paranormal romance about a witch who bakes wedding cakes that are bewitched with a love spell. One of her cakes ends up getting eaten by the hero. Story revolves around her trying to find an antidote. Funny read
The latest Psy/Changeling book Wolf Rain by Nalini Singh feature an IR romance (BWWM). Not the best place to start if you've never read the series.

Ladies and gents, I just have to sing the praises (in heavy metal growling style, lol) of
and
. The art is GLORIOUS and the story is romantic fantasy on steroids. If you're a fan of period dramas like "Still Star Crossed" and "The Borgias", you will LOVE this. The heroine is unambiguously Black, with dark skin and natural 4c hair which is shown in some panels wearing a silk headwrap when sleeping. There's political intrigue, a slow burn romance, family loyalty and even an adorable animal bestie. The world is diverse, reminiscent of a Renaissance Italy. If you don't end up shipping Poppy and Cyrenic by the time you've finished this, you've got no heart, lol.
Danielle The Book Huntress (Back to the Books) wrote: "Here's our 2019 reading discussion thread!"If you are looking for an interesting new read my newest book A Blast from His Past is now available on Amazon. The heroine is a sassy sister that doesn't take crap from anyone.
