Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 1731 comments This book is for AtYB 2019 prompt 1. A book that won/nominated for an award in your favourite genre. I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi and also wished to find a Canadian author who has won an award in those genres Guy Gavriel Kay fits that description very well.
His book Ysabel the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel in 2008. It is his fist urban fantasy novel.

Ysabel takes place in the world of today: in a modern springtime, in and around the celebrated city of Aix-en-Provence near Marseilles. Dangerous, mythic figures from the Celtic and Roman conflicts of the past erupt into the present, claiming and changing lives.

Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 1731 comments An enjoyable read. It could be counted as YA as well as adult.

I liked that the main character was not the usual teen character who is bent out of shape about something. He was well adjusted, from a loving home with friends to fall back on in a crisis.

Really refreshing.
