Althea ☾ (themoonwholistens) | 1115 comments are there any book/s that seems to be disliked by the majority but you love it anyway?

OliveTree (themostsmooth) The Doom books are fun, weird sci-fi with a great tone and fun narration even if they're terrible adaptations of the games

Nikita I think the only one that I was surprised to learn that someone hated that I loved was Throne of Glass

OliveTree (themostsmooth) It's kinda hard to think of any other answers because I don't tend to read books that everyone hated. I did read 'In a Dark, Dark Wood' by Ruth Ware, and really enjoyed it. I understand why a lot of people didn't like it to a certain degree because it was marketed like a horror thriller when it really, really isn't, but a lot of people reviewing it also criticized things which, to me, were really obscure?

laurel [the suspected bibliophile] (laurelthereader) Squad by Mariah MacCarthy I actually liked it (not loved) and I enjoyed the character growth.

Go Set a Watchman (To Kill a Mockingbird, #2) by Harper Lee was another I liked (again, not loved) that everyone hated because it revealed things about Atticus Finch that they all ignored To Kill A Mockingbird.

Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore Once I got past the precocious artsy fartsy people doing precocious artsy fartsy things and into the multiverse portions, it got really good. The beginning is rough though.

The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory It somehow has a 3.45 rating and I just—how? It's so cute. Except for a completely out of character outburst by Carlos to add unneeded drama, this is an almost perfect romance book IMO.

Sarah (lavanyamakara) Pilgrim at Tinker Creek. No body else in the class liked it but I enjoyed it. It an be a touch read though because its written in "stream of conciseness".
