I am in! I might start tomorrow though but I want to finish the trilogy!

Me too! I probably won't start until the weekend though, I'm still working on finishing The Well of Ascension ^~^

I started a couple of days ago and I just finished chapter 14.

I confess I am not grasped by the series as I was for the first (and to a lesser extent) for the second. I am hoping it is just the ramping up of the story (as it happened with me with book #2).
I will try to put a bit more emphasis on this read trying to move quickly through the first 25% or so and hoping it grips me.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that the story isn't gripping you in this installment Solseit! I hope it is just ramping up like you said ^^

As for me I was a bit too busy to get a start on things ^^; But I will likely be starting today or tomorrow.

I'm really excited to dig in though. I finished The Well of Ascension just a few days ago, so it is still very fresh. Can't wait to see what Sanderson has planned next XD

I'll try to finish Ship of Magic tonight and then start this tomorrow! I didn't enjoy WoA as much as the first but I trust Sanderson to cook together a satisfying ending in this last book :D

I am through chapter 31 and things are starting to be shaped I guess.
Sazed is a bit of a pill for me this time around. I really enjoyed him in the first two books but I am living the opposite experience right now.
On the positive, I am enjoying the new point of view introduced and it is giving me the right excitement to see how it proceeds!

So I’m starting today but before I do, I thought I’d write down some predictions for this book :D

Predictions:
(view spoiler)[ • Vin dies – I somehow don’t see her surviving this book? At least I don’t think she’ll be a prominent part of the world after whatever ending Sanderson has written for this series.
• Marsh is evil, but it’s not his fault – we kinda saw this in WoA but I hope it’ll get expanded. I think he’s like a puppet or something because he’s now an Inqiusitor.
• Kelsier is NOT DEAD – maybe this is wishful thinking but I really don’t see Kell being gone from the story yet. He’s still too prominent a figure.
• Whatever Vin released in WoA will be defeated, and the mists will stop being deadly. The world will become lush and green again. Happy ending please? But it’ll probably be bittersweet, especially if I’m right about Vin (and if Vin dies, I don’t see Elend surviving either)
• Sazed survives – my poor guy has been through enough :( (hide spoiler)]

I've been thinking about doing it for a while, because it's usually fun to see afterwards (especially when you've guessed extremely wrong xD)

(view spoiler)[Hmmm, I think I just don't see her being a part of a "normal" Mistborn world? She's become to great a person in the eyes of the Skaa to live a normal life.

And I also think Vin will be willing to give the ultimate sacrifice to save her world, just like Kelsier did. I think defeating this evil she's released will weigh heavily on her conscience, and I think she'll do whatever she can to destroy it before it destroys the world. But I could be guessing completely wrong – it's happened before xD (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 3: (view spoiler)[I'm not sure I like Elend as a Mistborn... I guess I just kinda miss the old Elend :( It was refreshing having a hero who didn't have superpowers, just plain good ol' intelligence and empathy. I mean, of course he's badass and all-powerful and it fits his new post-Tindwyl persona, but I liked him more when he was a bit of an underdog... (hide spoiler)]

Also the very beginning of chapter 4: (view spoiler)[WHAAAAAAAT?!? The planet was moved closer to the sun? To burn away the mists? And that's why there's so much ash? As protection? That's... really wild. And kinda science fiction-y? It's like terraforming!

Also, who is the person writing this diary now? The same as the one before? Questions, so many questions! (hide spoiler)]

Alrighty alrighty, let's get some thoughts in here XD So, I just finished Chapter 38 and some crazy stuff is happening with our boy (view spoiler)[Spook (hide spoiler)]. But I'll get into that later...

I'm not digging this one as much as the previous one at this point. Maybe it's the changing of views? This book seems to heavily focus on Elend, TenSoon, and Sazed. I'm okay with 2/3 of those, can you guess which? lol. Elend has just changed a lot and though I love his and Vin's relationship I don't like his perspective as much...if that makes any sense XD

But we still have some mysteries going on here. Like what Vin and Elend are searching for - (view spoiler)[Those cache's that the lord ruler hid away. What can it mean? Was it just a means of survival for him? Does it have a greater purpose? Maybe all of them hold a clue on how to defeat ruin? Or how to bring the world back to what it once was (prob. not but one can hope). That writing vin found though....on how the only safe place from ruin is in your minds?! creepy! (hide spoiler)]

TenSoon - (view spoiler)[I'm so glad our little doggo is okay. I mean Kandra xD It's really interesting to see the society that these other beings live in. And how different each generations are. Makes me wonder...can old age even kill a kandra? What is their life expectancy if not on a contract? hmmmm...

I really hope our friendo gets out though. Now that he has tricked them into getting his old bones back I think it is very likely :) (hide spoiler)]

Sazed - (view spoiler)[Our poor guy. He doesn't know what guides his life anymore. With the loss of his love. And him loosing hope in religion (his one life's focus up until now). It's really rough for him. I hope he finds the answers he is looking for... (hide spoiler)]

Shoot I forgot to write about our boy (view spoiler)[Spook! lol. Firstly, him taking things hard after his 'uncle' died was rough. Him fully using his tin senses to be helpful. It's sad, but also fascinating to see how using metals to that capacity affects the body.

But can we talk about his vision please??? Did he really see Kelsier? Or is his mind messing with him? Sadly I think the later. I think he got the new pewter power from being impaled by that other user. Maybe joined bloodlines or something? And his subconscious is telling him not to take it out? hmmmm....but if it was Kelsier it would be way cooler XD (hide spoiler)]

Just finished chapter 40 and wow, we finally got to find out the origin of (view spoiler)[the koloss and kandra. Wow wow wow. Human is human after all! Yikes! So these metals can be used in more ways...that's so twisted (hide spoiler)]

While The final empire is unique and beautiful, I found myself having to complete a chore for these two books. I think it has to do with the characters.

It is a fine trilogy, don’t get me wrong. It is impressive how much progress Sanderson has made over time to be able to work on the Stormlight Archive.

Yet I am glad to have finished the book and the trilogy. I am not sure I will dabble in the next one - but maybe I will since it would be a more “mature” story!

Awww, I'm sorry to hear the book was a bit of a chore for you Solseit. I kinda know what you mean though. This one isn't gripping me as much as the previous one. I guess I just liked hearing things from Vin's perspective (from the past novel). Nonetheless I still get excited for TenSoon and a few others...but Elend's arc....not so much.

What was your take on the Stormlight Archives? I must admit I've only read "The Way of Kings" and I was kinda left disappointed. It was a slow and tiring read. I assume to lead up to much, but hmm...

That's right! So this is a trilogy, but there are more books? What? lol. Some same characters and world I'm guessing? The author just expanding??

61% through right now, still kinda slow goings for me. But there was one revelation that I was shocked by with Vin. (view spoiler)[While she was trapped in the lord rulers cave she discovered that Ruin has been with her all along?! Manipulating her thoughts?! Oh dear oh dear. I mean we remember that Zane in the previous book heard voices too, those he deemed 'god'. So that must have been ruin as well....Then Spook with Kelsier....oh no oh no. Just how much of this chess game does Ruin have worked out so far O.O (hide spoiler)]
