I immediately assumed it was his baby. I couldn't understand at that point what Amy hoped to gain by saying so though.
I knew at that moment that it was his baby and that Gregory had some feelings for her. But, in the back of my mind was the fact he’d dumped her with Mrs. Walker. I kept an open mind at that point because it seemed Amy’s motive in that moment was to hurt Vivian.
I assumed Vivian's husband was the Gregory she was talking about. I also thought Amy was crazy for thinking Gregory would take her back because of the baby, especially since he dumped her at the brothel. I figured if he found out about the baby and actually wanted his son, he would take him and have Amy thrown in jail or sent away somewhere. He had the money to do that.
I was thinking a lot like that, too, Robin. Were you surprised at how accommodating he was when Amy returned to his house? I think he wanted that son really bad and to have a live-in mistress.
I was surprised. It seems he didn't know she was pregnant when he dumped her. I guess he figured it was the best of both worlds to get a live-in mistress and a baby.
I was surprised at first to find Amy at Gregory's house, but it made crazy sense when I thought of her reasoning.
I was surprised that she would purposefully tell Vivian the first chance she got. Surely Gregory wouldn't have kept a live-in mistress if his wife hadn't died.
Once she named the baby, it was obvious that Amy was Gregory's mistress. I never thought otherwise. I was kind of shocked that he allowed her into his home when she was obviously a prostitute. A man of his social standing would not do this even, or perhaps especially, if there were a baby involved. He would have set her up in a house somewhere like he did before. It didn't make sense.
