He admitted to alerting the media but was that a lie? Telling the media even though it breached their safety wasn’t as bad as him working with Malik himself. It didn’t seem as bad as Alex’s assistant’s betrayal.
Agree, it wasn't as bad as Alex's assistants betrayal. The kid was in a tight spot and didn't think it through that, with the security concern, things could actually turn deadly.

When he admitted what he did. He did pay the price.
I thought it was rather harsh to kill him when all he did was accept a bribe to alert the media to a meeting. I really don't think he comprehended how bad it could go.
I understood him making the deal initially because it didn’t seem like a big deal...leaking the location to the media. But his decision to not tell anyone when he was made aware of the security threat? That’s the decision I thought unconscionable. And, it’s the one that got him killed.

It DEFINITELY wasn’t as bad as Alex’s assistant.

Alex's assistant was the worst by far but when David realized that he might have put them in danger, he should have at least told the team leader or Grace. I wouldn't have wished such a horrible death on him though. He obviously didn't realize what he was doing.
