A Great and Terrible Beauty discussion

The Great Terrible Beauty was a very interesting book. The genre affected the book because it built up the atmosphere and setting of the story. The author's personal life may have affected the writing because, she was once a nanny and that probably had started to make her want to write about fantasies. The plot of the book was, the girl Jemma Doyle learned how to enter the realm and learned how to use the magic, what was trying to be accomplished was she wanted to find out why her mom did what she did or why she was so mysterious.
This book made me feel like I was actually experience the events. A detail that made me feel that way is because when she was explaining how she saw her mom dead, bleeding after her vision i felt as if i could see it. This book affected my life on fantasies I use to think they were dumb, now I enjoy them. I suggest this book to many people. I want to read the next book.
