Bachelor: A desirable potential boyfriend. AKA not Cole Kingston.

Seventeen-year-old Madison (Madi) Matthews wants nothing to do with the dating competition her school is holding to raise money for charity. She's never been interested in chasing a guy before and she certainly isn't interested in competing for one in front of the whole school.

But, when Madi is voted as one of the ten "lucky" contestants, she's given no choice but to vie for the heart of Lincoln High's most eligible bachelor. The problem is, they've chosen the wrong guy.

Cole Kingston might be good looking, great with a football and practically the king of Lincoln High, but he's also cocky, arrogant, a serial flirt and Madi's sworn enemy.

Will she be able to resist him though when the competition heats up and he turns his charms on her?

I think I'll try to join in on this :) I haven't read anything by this author before but this looks like a fun read. I used to be a sucker for a love/hate relationship but I haven't read anything like that for a while. Fingers crossed this is a good read because I think it could go either way haha.

10% - Ok the concept of this book is so ridiculous haha. Why would a school possibly recreate the bachelor (including it being filmed!) even if it is for charity?? As if teenagers aren't self-doubting, hormone-crazed and struggling enough you have to throw in a reality competition during school hours haha! Plus, it's not exactly setting a good example having girls compete for a boys attention. And they don't even get a choice if they want to be part of the competition or not if they get voted for????
Yeah I cannot see this ever happening in real life.
Howweeeeever.... All stupidity aside this is still a fun, easy read so far. I think I'll just have to switch my brain off for a bit while I read it haha.

Chapters 1-7(view spoiler)[ So yes, the idea of a high school letting its students do the Bachelor os ridiculous, but kind of funny. I like that Evan is in it, even though Cole isn't bisexual. It seems like Cole and Angus rigged the whole thing, he was always going to be the bachelor and he picked Madi. They also chose girls from different cliques to give variety. I like it so far. Chapters 8-13(view spoiler)[ I'm glad Madi and Jake broke up, even if he was a dick about it. He almost cheats on her with Laurie but then is mad about her on the dating show? Ugh, she's better off. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 14-20(view spoiler)[ I really don't like Laurie and I feel like she's going to end up in the final 2. I'm very happy Cole and Madi admitted their feelings for each other! (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[ The ending was sweet. Laurie still sucks. I felt like her apology doesn't mean much after the terrible things she did. Even though we didn't see it, I hope the other girls find sweet guys too. (hide spoiler)]

23% - (view spoiler)[ Haha I love how Evan has been included in the competition. To be honest, I wish the author had just made Cole bisexual. It would have made it a bit more interesting. In fact, that he already has a thing for Madi makes it all a bit predictable. Like surely he's just going to pick her? (hide spoiler)]

Ch 6 (23%) - (view spoiler)[ This is kind of cute so far. I like Madi and her friends. I don't really like Jake, and obviously, Laurie needs to be slapped. (hide spoiler)]
Ch 14 (55%) - (view spoiler)[ Ha! She liked his face. Too funny. They seem to be getting along much better now. I'm glad that she and Jake are done. I didn't like his anger issues. (hide spoiler)]
Ch 19 (73%) - (view spoiler)[ Question - why are they not showing all this annoying behavior of Laurie's on the show? Seems like people would easily be able to pick out how nasty she is. (hide spoiler)]
Finished - I liked that much more than I thought I would! (view spoiler)[ Initially, I thought the whole Bachelor thing was ridiculous for a high school fundraiser (and still do), but I admit, I got caught up in the story. And Cole's grand romantic gesture to win her back? Uh, melted my cold heart into puddles, it did! So sweet!!!

I think the only thing that would have made that ending better is if something truly horrible happened to Laurie. Normally, I'm all for characters magically becoming better people, but she really was so awful that I wanted a little karmic payback. Getting tossed from the lunch table just wasn't enough for me. Just started and I’m already loving it!!!!

Finished! The ending had a couple of super cheesy lines, but I loved the rest of it. I’m so satisfied with the ending, but at the same time, I want more! Does this author have any more YA contemporary romances?

Up to Chapter 5: (view spoiler)[ Already loving this book, I can't believe Jake told Cole not to talk to Madison so all that friendship is gone. Cole is not the person Madison thinks he is. Up to Chapter 15 (view spoiler)[ Im so glad Jake and Madi have broken up, I loved the ice skating but Laurie tripping her up is just petty and jealousy. Starting this one today. Looks like a fun quick read, after my last dark and suspenseful read, I'm ready for a change of pace.

(view spoiler)[ So far I think they are overplaying how bad Jake is as a boyfriend. Like if you ignore me to hang out with your friends instead of including me then you'd be dumped. On the other side of the story I think the Love game is very cute! The first contest had to have been for Madi since it is apparent she loved baked goods! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 15 (view spoiler)[ Another cute moment for the win for Cole. He swooped right in to take over Jake's place as her protector and was able to lift her spirits with the breakup, and surprise surprise the date set up was on the ice rink. Definitely set up! (hide spoiler)]
