Play Book Tag discussion

You know how right about Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire time the series starts getting earnestly threatening? The end of the previous book was that turning point for the Gallagher Girls, and Only the Good Spy Young was one tense ride. I'm not going to include a synopsis because spoilers.

The little things that were starting to get annoying in previous installments--the boy angst, the sneaking around--all had good reasons and consquences here, and frankly, the heady chemistry being replaced with real, nagging questions was a refreshing development. The throughline question of what happened to Cam's operative father has begun to gather some new leads, and it laces in well with the plotline regarding the rival secret organization that has begun circling around their target. The moments of sisterhood and delightfully girly levity are still here, but because the stakes are so much higher, they are both toned down when present and all the more appreciated when they do pop up. The Gallagher Girls' daring escapes continue to be daring and increasingly more competant.

I... think I might finish this series in very rapid order now.
