Anyway, seems like I won't be alone :)

Up to chapter 15 now.
So far it's been pretty straightforward, kind of stereotypical fantasy. I've already been warned that book 1 is pretty tropey, so I'm trying not to judge it too much.
But it's fun to read!

I'm a bit more than halfway through. Still pretty tropey.

I prophesy that that wolf is going to die anyway because they always come for the dogs!

I'm not a fan of how characters seem to have a penchant to solve problems with violence. And then it's always 'oh, you made an enemy today!' Yeah, duh, maybe stop hitting each other all the time 🙄 (hide spoiler)]

It was a fun read (as you can see by how quickly I read it)
It would have been great if it had not been quite as tropey and predictable.


(view spoiler)[Did anyone else think he overdid it with killing of characters in the end? I hope that that's not a thing for the whole series.
Is Nathair the Black Sun (Corban's reaction makes it seem likely) or does he just wrongly believe he's the Bright Star? I actually hope the latter is the case. It's more interesting to see characters go crazy based on overzeal than simply because they are evil.
I hope Cywen will get a more prominent role in the next book, even though I'm not sure yet if I like her or not. She seems a bit too much like one of those 'I'm a strong female because I can fight' characters.

am still here reading this! taking me a lot of time to get immersed into this fantasy. So I think I will take few more weeks to finish this.

I am in chapter 29. this seems to be introductory book, introducing characters. Giving readers the time to warm up to the characters. Corban, and Veradis looks like the heroes that the prophecies in the book talk about. am not sure about the other two's identity. Sadly, no strong female character so far.

Yeah, I agree on it being an introductory book.
I always keep thinking it can't be that hard to include female characters, can it? What's your opinion on Cywen so far?
