Katie wrote: "A wizard of Earthsea for the group challange. 25% in and I'm not very keen on it so far."That sounds like me--I struggled with parts of it too, but ended up really liking it as a whole. I'll be interested to see what you think after finishing.
One of the books I'm really late to the party to is Ancillary Justice. I'm nearly done and I absolutely adore it. I can't believe I let it sit on my TBR list so long. It's technically science fiction but has the feel of an epic fantasy, so it's pretty much catnip for me.
Also reading The Obelisk Gate and it's almost unfair how talented of a storyteller Jemisin is. Her world-building is incredible.
For a book that seems to be quite popular I do hope it picks up some, I look forward to finishing it regardless.
I'm going to finish Side Jobs: Stories from the Dresden Files then for the rest of the month, The Time of Contempt, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, The Fall of the Readers, and finally Monster Hunter Vendetta
I think this is going to be another solid month of C.J. Cherryh -- after Downbelow Station I'll be reading Alliance Space (Company Wars #2) and the Chanur books and maybe Rimrunners and Cyteen and some other Alliance/Union books.
I know it's not fantasy but has anyone read Under the Eagle and the series in general? Is it good? I like the sound of it and plan on giving it a go
Aaron wrote: "I know it's not fantasy but has anyone read Under the Eagle and the series in general? Is it good? I like the sound of it and plan on giving it a go"It's on my TBR but have not tried it yet.
I finished Side Jobs: Stories from the Dresden Files. Harry Dresden is the man. I wish we could have about 10 more books with him in them. Now onto The Time of Contempt.
Just finished A Wizard of Earthsea, and now I will read Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Not fantasy but has been on my TBR for a while.
Finished Side Jobs: Stories from the Dresden Files. I love the character of Harry Dresden. He's just a cool dude. I wish there were many, many more of he's books. I'm on to reading The Time of Contempt. Geralt is another one of my favorite characters.
Ctgt wrote: "Have The Sunne in Splendour and Interpreter of Maladies going right now."I love Sunne in Splendour!
I have just finished the second in the All Souls trilogy Shadow of Night: I am enjoying these books but not to the extent that I am desperate to find out what happens next. It's quite nice as I can easily put them down when I need to.
Katie wrote: "Just finished A Wizard of Earthsea, and now I will read Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Not fantasy but has been on my TBR for a while."I read Will Grayson, Will Grayson a few years ago. I really enjoyed it, though I'm generally not a big YA fan.
Currently reading Fool's Errand, and listening to David Copperfield at the moment though its not fantasy.
Continuing in Alliance/Union, I finished Downbelow Station and started Alliance Space (Company Wars #2).

Even though these books are for a younger audience I really enjoyed them. I started on the final book today: The Fall of the Readers.

Finished The Time of Contempt. I have to say I was a little disappointed. Not as good as the previous books. There was some of the action, (view spoiler), the story revolved around more of other characters and finally the ending is really not an ending at all. Gave it only 3 stars. Hopefully, the next story picks back up.
I'd been reading Kings of the Wyld sporadically on the side for a while, and I just finished it yesterday. So much fun and funny with loveable characters. :)
Finished Alliance Space (Company Wars #2) and am moving on to Rimrunners, which I have to read as words printed on paper like an animal because there are irritating gaps in which parts of C.J. Cherryh's back catalog are available as eBook. But it'll be entirely worth it.
Finished Bird Box. The suspense was very effective. It was good. Now reading Killing Gravity. Was in the mood for some sci-fi, and I can knock off a book from my free ebook challenge.
Finished Age of War, which was fantastic and gave me so many feels. No onto Theft of Swords (I'm reading out of order).
Have just finished Endgames which is the final book in the Imager series by LE Modesitt. (can't reference it as Goodreads can't seem to find it at the moment). Not as good as some of the others. Charyn isn't such an interesting character as others in the same vein especially Lorn and Lerial. Looking forward to the next Recluse novel later this year though.

You're right about Charyn, but I found the Industrial Revolution problem & the way he handled it most interesting & fantastically well done. I really want to go back & read the first 3 now since they take place a few centuries later.

So this looks really interesting to me. Can one start with Treachery's Tools or does one need to start from the beginning to know what's going on?

Started Monster Hunter Vendetta. Reading Side Jobs: Stories from the Dresden Files really got me in the mood for some of this kind of Fantasy.

I've just started The City of Brass It's interesting but not gripping. I'm having trouble keeping the different sets of people sorted out.
I did that as an audio last May. All the readers had to explain to the listeners what happened in a particular scene as we just couldn’t work it out.
Finished Tripoint and am starting Finity's End, the last of C.J. Cherryh's merchanter books, although certainly not the last of her Alliance-Union books.
I'm not going to be reading anything else for a while as I have just got Oathbringer out of the library. It's huge!! The trouble is that it is so long since I read the previous one, I haven't quite got everything sorted out in my head yet.

One of my favorite all-time Fantasies. They seem to get better and better.
