How about a classic...
Classics are always good nominations. I'd read F-451 again, or a Doyle book.
They're all really good selections. I've never read Tom Sawyer (😳 I always meant to) or Fahrenheit 451. Any of these would be good, except the dog one. I want to cry right now and I don't even know what it's about. But anytime there's an animal in the story it's gonna be a weeper.

I don't blame you, Keli. I agree about animal books usually make people cry. Those stories break my heart, but sometimes they do have good endings.

That looks good. And i need to read a chick lit book for a challenge.

Ok, so I nominated only Kathryn Harrison novels. I picked up A Thousand Orange Trees about a decade ago and loved it. It was haunting and though not historically accurate in the details I think she captured the powerlessness of women in a time dominated by the church, how women's sex and bodies are used against them and as means to subjugate, and how women exercised elements of power, moments of autonomy and dignity in brutal times. I'd happily read it again when not in a depressive phase cos I might get something new from it. I won't lie, it could use some editing to make it more concise. Like me, it's wordy.
I've read the Binding Chair, too and it deals with the same subjects; power, class, and feminism. But this is an easier more straightforward read than A Thousand Orange Trees/Poison.
I've not read either of the others.
