I read only a few paragraphs of that book in IB English B HL exam in November 2018 so I don’t know the book in detail but it was about a street violinist with low self esteem. The book was told from the main character’s eyes. In first 2-3 paragraphs he was mentioning about his first experience with being a street musician. If I’m not remembering wrong there was a quote like “I pulled my violin like a gun” and he was explaining how people in a rush gave him some pennies without even looking at him and how others passed by him almost with shame. I think.

Because I was in an exam I wasn’t able to write down the name of the book but I think it had a long name. Might be including “walking” and “a rainy/summer day”
If it wasn't in first person, I would have thought it was the book that was turned into the movie 'The Soloist'. It's about a homeless man who's mentally troubled and an incredible violinist.https://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 176 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

The Soloist: A Lost Dream, an Unlikely Friendship, and the Redemptive Power of Music by Steve López is told in the first person but from the POV of the author who meets the violinist. You can check it out here: https://archive.org/details/soloistlo...
