Foxy: thats right, i forgot about that. Cant believe it took so long to read it! lolNeelniki: A buddy read is when a group of friends read the same book at the same time and then chat about it.
True, Kris recommended it to me a while back, too. Can't wait to start this one!I've also seen that you guys still haven't read Forbidden! Shame on you ;)
Ohhh, Forbidden. O.O I was thinking of taking that one off my TBR list completely. Forbidden spoiler--->(view spoiler)
Kris, oh yeah I remember! That sucks, it's a really good one.Foxy, you definitely got a point there. No kids or siblings for me, so I didn't have that "yuck-factor" there but that book was still devastatingly beautiful, IMO.

Hey guys! Thanks for letting us join! Is it alright if we do? Kris asked me to so thought I'd read along :)
*Waves* Hey girlies! I for one am excited about this group read. I think it'll be a fun (dark and disturbing) one! = )
Hi Harriet, Chelsea :) Of course it's alright! The more, the merrier ;) Looking forward to a dark read, too, it's been waaaaay to long. You guys all read on kindle (with percentage), right?
I'll convert my pages to percentage then and add the chapter, just to be safe and avoid spoilering anyone.
My percentage may be off and that times (honestly, kindle does percentage differnetly than the rest of the world), so I'll add chapters, too. Ohh and you are near my timezone, so I don't have to chat with myself until everyone from the US comes around lol
Sanny LOVES dark reads, lol. I remember I found this one when I was specifically searching for Sanny-books lol. It was right after we all did a BR read, I think. The Lonely, maybe??If it gets scary we can all hold virtual hands = )
You are so cute, Kris :D Sanny-books? Could have been the Lonely or what was the pseudo dark one with the not-yet priest?
YES, it could have been after that one, Sanny. That was more recent. I did not like the Lonely, actually. lol. I felt horrible bc I suggested it and everyone was like WTF IS THIS?! haha but we had a fun BR!
I live in Germany, so only 1 hour time difference :DThere aren't enough words to describe Forbidden, it absolutely destroyed me. Only few books made me ugly cry that badly lol
I think most of our Dark BRs were weird books lol There was also The Crow which I couldn't even finish, the book drove me nuts. If I remember correctly nobody from the BR actually liked the Lonely...

Nope, not a soul. All I can remember from that book was a character drinking dirty dishwater??
Kris, I keep trying to remembe rwhat the hell that book was about, but I can't recall. (view spoiler)Harriet, really? I haven't heard about a second book. Not sure if I'd want to read what happens afterward (view spoiler). I also keep going back to the book and I read it ages ago, it's one of these books that's simply stuck on your mind foreeeeever.
Sanny wrote: "Kris, I keep trying to remembe rwhat the hell that book was about, but I can't recall. [spoilers removed]Yep. That was (view spoiler)

Hah, sounds like it was a good thing that we forgot most of the details :D
Dammit. I just remembered some details involving a certain "uncomfortable" walk of shame, if you can recall. So, this whole series is complete, right?? I'm wondering if they leave off on CH, but if w can read on whenever we want, it doesnt matter
Ohh nope, I can't recall that certain scene, feel free to enlighten me, Kris :) This series is complete, yes. I didn't even think to check before now!Harriet, I agree one hundred percent. I wouldn't want to read about that either. I mean, it would be great for her but it might break my heart all over again. I re-read Forbidden once, the seocnd time was still as devastating lol At times it might have been even worse because you already know...
H, have you read flawed, too??Sanny, I will enlighten you, lol...in a spoiler bc, well, you will see when you open it. (view spoiler)
Hah, I simply like to torture myself ;) But I definitely see where you are coming from and I can only imagine, since I read mostly English books, I rarely read about German stuff. The only thing that keeps coming up is nazi stuff (surpisingly often in connections with werewolves). I think I only read one real captor to lover story, The Dark Duet. There might have been others that I can't recall right now :D
Kris!! Lol, I don't remember that. Honestly, I don't even remember names or the how and why. I think my mind blocked all memories of this book because it was just no good :P
Harriet (British Button) wrote: "Ps I totally read that spoiler, Kris! Ewww wish I didn't now haha!"PEEKER!!

JK. That wasn't really a spoiler, lol. But u said ur not gonna read it anyway!! :)
Kristin (KC) wrote: "
similar storyline, I believe?? but i haven't read either, so sanny will know."Yep, I know :D Similar storyline but completely different. The topic is the same but the story development differs a lot.
Ohhh, I alsoo read Killing Sarai, Izabel is soooo awesome!!! I haven't read Madeleine Abducted though. Dystopian.. mhm, well that's a weird genre for me. I haven't read many dystopian books and usually have a hard time getting into their worlds, I honestly don't know why. But I'll keep it in mind :)
I liked the second even better than the first! And book three was really good, too.I can't even really tell when dystopian works for me and when it doesn't. For example, the Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews has dystopian elements as in the world is different from ours but it has all this magic elements and that makes it okay lol But mostly, they don't work for me. I liked the Hunger Games but then I suffered through book 2 and 3. And I've been dancing around Divergent for months now lol
That's mostly why I want to read Divergent because I want to watch the movie. Lol I know it's not logical but my mind directly goes "Why would that even ever happen?".. it makes no damn sense because it's not like Hogwarts has any more chance of existing or me meeting a Swedish Vampire no matter how much I'd love to lol So throughout the whole book that would be my main focus, the premise doesn't work and I start picking everything apart.
I know right? I love it, too and it doesn't have to be realistic and still it works although my mind always screams when Harry hooks up with Ginny as he's supposed fall madly in love with Draco (Too much FanFiction lol).So it makes no sense why it doesn't work the same way with dystopian but I can't seem to blend out that it doesn't have to be realistic.
Not yet but I really want to after I argue with myself for a few more months before I give in and finally read the book. Then I can watch the movie :D
Ohh I'd absolutely love to go there. A friend of mine kept teasing me about how awesome it is and he doesn't even like Harry potter all that much - I wanted to throttle him lol Not sure if I ever get around to it, my one and only experience with the UK wasn't a happy one - yay for class excursions lolWe totally got something in common there, I keep putting it off as well!
He totally is, at some point I eill figure out a proper pay-back though :D I definitely will visit it though. Well i was 14 and it was a school trip but we lived with families and too sum up a long story, we got chased by hooligans, my friend and I heard our family's parents have sex twice, the youngest kid usually got up at four a.m. in order to scream the entire house down, we got lost in london and our family sent us to the wrong pickup once so that we got lost a second time lol
At that point I was more pissed of than anything else, I was just lucky that I had my parents phone with me with a contract that let me call friends to put us in touch with a teacher. But you see why I'm hesitant to go back ;-) although weird trips seem to be my specialty! The UK was only one of a few lol
Omg guys so sorry I missed this whole bonding session!!! I don't have internet access on the weekends so I don't get on from my phone as much unless I know a friend's review is up...I LOVED your Spongey GIF, Tris lol Made me LOL for sure
Also, both the book and movie for Divergent ROCK, Sanny-You might like it! Despite it seeming unbelievable! ♥
If nothing else, Theo James is fun to ogle :P
No worries, Chelsea, there'll be plenty of time to chat more :DAhhh, eye candy that's always a good reason ;-) I might just start with the movie then, that's 2 hours vs. however many hours I might need for the book just to be on the safe side!
