It has a good ending. I hope there is a season two but if there isn’t, the ending didn’t leave you hanging.
I'm six episodes in and really enjoying it too! Time travel aspect reminds me of one of our past monthly book reads, End of Eternity.
Just finished watching the rest of the season.
Absolutely loved it. Very entertaining, some stylish sequences, some quirky bouts of humour, great soundtrack and a thrilling climax.
The time travel concept is akin to The Adjustment Bureau and Asimov's End of Eternity but it's all a bit undercooked. However, it's scope certainly has an epic potential if season 2 materialises (which rumours have it as a likelihood but might be an 18 month wait!).
I love that it's only ten episodes, something I hope Netflix producers (or whoever is responsible for series formats) continue to improve in making concise season narrative progressions without awful meandering like the various Marvel seasons that were way too overstretched (still a great bunch of series, though).
There were two standout characters for me, Klaus, the neurotic druggie with reluctant special powers and a disillusioned male assassin agent. Both terrific performances in completely different ways. Also love the assassin agents dynamic and a particularly unlikely endearing romance. And a special mention for the youngster who plays Number five, damn he was impressive, totally commanded all his scenes.
Production values are fantastic and the family of characters are perfectly dysfunctional! Lots of unanswered burning questions of course but the season as a whole is a satisfying whole story. If Netflix for some reason doesn't greenlight a new season, then it's still a satisfying enough complete series despite the unanswered questions. That's one of the great virtues of the surprisingly uprising Netflix exclusive content brand, every season of every show is a complete storyline with no cliffhangers (just open avenues for new stories and maybe some unanswered questions). Unlike other networks that end with cliffhangers and then unceremoniously ditched. Which is why I have only stuck to watching Netflix content and never touch other network series, even if they have time travel, I am just fed up with unfinished storylines. Ooops I'm digressing with a big ol moan!
9/10 for me. Another great delivery from Netflix.
Gosh, so many Netflix time travel series to devour in the "My List" row! Have a lot to catch up on as my focus in the last couple years deviated from time travel but its great to come back with fresh enthusiasm. Next up is a German series called "Dark" which some of you guys seem to have digested on another thread. Will pop in there soon.

18 month wait!I loved Klaus!
I agree, if there isn’t a second season the ending was a satisfying conclusion.
The Dark is really, really good. You will like it, I think.
Season two of The Umbrella Academy is apparently coming to Netflix. I saw “season 2 coming” on Netflix when scrolling through shows. I’m so excited!

I like that "if anything happens to Five we riot". That kid was amazing. Can't wait! A side note : Dark , the new season is out or will be soon.

Yes! Dark is really good.
I think you misunderstood, Nancy. They only just kicked off production in April as it was greenlit due to it being enough of a success. It's way too soon for a whole season to be completed in that time.
It would be awesome if I am wrong of course! But it would be the first time we see a second season of a show being made and shown just months apart from a first season. Usually they are a year apart.
Having said that, netflix is not your normal studio production company as they have played fast and loose with their methods of productions. The OA being a good example where every episode is of varying lengths, unheard of in normal TV series productions. Also, Netflix and Prime debuts complete seasons in their entirety for binge watching. Still I would be shocked if we do see season 2 on Friday... Ecstatically shocked... :)

I was replying to Jennifer’s comment about Dark season 2 was coming soon (see her post #10).

You definitely need to be reading books again. 😄

There is time travel in it.
Has anyone else checked it out?
