Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace

I'm checking in too.....thank you, Debbie - I didn't set alerts/notifications and hadn't seen that teams were sorted.I don't think I've been on any teams with anyone before - can't wait to get to know everyone!
I'm not positive I've been on teams with anyone (except maybe Megan) before either, but user names change all the time and there are lots of Jays, Debbies, Megans and Angies, LOL.I'd have to dig out the old rounds threads.
Unless everyone else is brand spanking new to the game, I'd rather not captain this round.
I am in agreement with you on being captain this round, let's see what Lady Jaye and Megan say! Maybe one of them would like to.
I will be going with Shadow's Bane from group bookshelves as my free space read, from group bookshelves.
(isbn 9781101616925 if that makes it easier for team captain to add to required posts).
Hi ladies. I sent a PM to Lady Jaye. If you don't hear from her by shelf announcement, please let us know. Thanks!
I can captain -- but a couple of days next week and a few days the last week of April I may not be able to be online. I'm Pacific time zone (North Las Vegas). Anyone else want to captain?Any thoughts on team names?
ETA: I'm reading Chimes at Midnight for the "Dark Urban Fantasy" shelf just called.
Debbie - If you seriously don't want to captain, I can. I am traveling this week for work and will be the last week of March also, but I should be okay.Just let me know. :-)
@Angie, if you don't mind, go for it and be our captain.I normally wouldn't care either way except I'm going to be spending some time on hotel wifi services which often really annoy me.
I totally understand. I'm in a hotel now - have been on a work / training thing for 2 weeks now and will be home a week and back again...but at most I think it would only be the last week of March I might be a little slow posting stuff. I don't mind to captain, if no one else wants to.As for team names - I'm really no good at those!
I've deleted my first two posts so Angie can edit hers to get the team master list post near top of first page.
Angie ☯ wrote: "Oh wow!! You are on top of things! I was just going to change one of mine and use it!"LOL, mine didn't say much besides "checking in."
I found some atrocious results on some team name generators. There outta be some good plays on "one" or "first" ...? Ferocious Firsts? Fabulous Firsts? Frenzied Firsts? Fierce Firsts? Frazzled Firsts? Fanatic Firsts? Finally Going to be First in Bookshelf BINGO? Fist Bump Firsts? George? B•I•N•G•O?
Clearly someone else should make team name suggestions.
I like this or a some sort of variation of it - Finally Going to be First in Bookshelf BINGO..... Finally Got to be First... Finally Number One!Here are a few -
As the Page Turns
Prose Before Bros
Bookish Ones
Happy Bookers
Team 15 is already "Better Read than Dead."Except for removing "Just," I like all your other suggestions. Plus "George" ;)
For free space, I'll read either
or
- both are on the BEST OF: Series Audiobooks list. For Dark Urban Fantasy, I think I'll read
.
I like As the Page Turns, Bookish Ones, or ONE more Book (or Chapter) for our name, but I'm okay with any of the options given. :)
Hi everyone I hope this message sends. My internet connection is erratic. It's taking so long to load pages and send messages. I'll check back tonight and post my read for the week.
Apologies,
LJ
Good evening ladies! Um for my Dark urban fantasy, I will go with Venom by Jennifer Estep. I really like the series, Jennifer Estep's inability to use personal pronouns reeeeaaaallly bothers me. Let's hope I survive the read.
For my free space, I will lost likely read Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews
I really like "George" too! Lol!! It makes me smile!Everyone seems to have ONE More ... On their lists, sooooo,
Do you prefer ONE More Chapter or ONE More Book.
(Chapter kind of seems to fit better, since this is another round or chapter of Bingo....) But I am good with anything!
I will be reading:For Shelf # 1 ~ Dark Urban Fantasy
Guilty Pleasures
For Free Space ~ changing 3/18
Bitter Bite
Option #2 ~ #28 on SOS BEST OF: Urban Fantasy Series
First Grave on the Right
This will be my first re-read for a bingo round; I try to always read new things, but this round I'm going for an old favorite!

I prefer chapter. You're right that it seems more fitting. :)

As to Guilty Pleasures series -- if not a re-read for you -- those first few books in series are really addictive. The later ones, not so much where if you start being disenchanted or bored with the series I'd advise stopping rather than keep hoping it gets better. It's really good for a really long time.
Dark Urban Fantasy Shelf
Chimes at Midnight by Seanan McGuire
Finished: March 16, 2019
Series: October Daye, #7
Rating: ★★★★☆
Number of pages: 368
Review: As usual for the series, I enjoyed this one.
This far into the series, hard to review without repeating things I've already said about previous books. A very grim situation -- villain addicting changelings to a drug -- for Toby to deal with in this entry. Yet, somehow a calmer, less dark book than previous. Maybe because she was calmer, secure in her relationship with the King of Cats, mentoring a squire, etc. Moved a lot faster on figuring out things like who was behind the drug and how to handle the Queen of the Mists--there was a lot more floundering and TSTL moments in previous books. Some prickly relationships seemed easier as well.
Series is still going strong for me; looking forward to reading book #8.
Hey team! How is everyone doing the first week? Two more days until a new shelf call! :-P I need to post my completion/review. Work travel is messing with me!Just say your question Debbie! I'm from East TN. And my TBR pile is out of control! I just keep adding more and more!
Hi everyone! I am almost done with my re-read of Venom, and internet-permitting, will be posting my review tomorrow.
I am Ghanaian, and currently, I live in the 'city' (hah!) of Kumasi, Ghana, where I go to medical school.
My tbr pile is moldy, tbh. For the past year, esp, reading for pleasure had been put on hold so I could focus on the first part of my final exams.
But I finish this year, so I am looking to get back in the reading game. I miss it a lot.
I've just moved to Las Vegas from Louisville, Kentucky. So have been busy.My TBR pile -- it's a toss up for Bookshelf BINGO with some going to come off the pile but other people's books get added as BINGO goes on.
I usually do Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon in April; not sure if will this year because of the moving.
http://www.24hourreadathon.com/histor... (and the goodreads group is at https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... ).There's one in April and in October where participants hole up and read for up to 24 hours.
