The alternates:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Cover Items: Must have the given item on the cover
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

I will introduce myself a little. I am from Ohio. I'm a RN in the Emergency Department. I just finished my BSN in the spring, so I have been trying to catch up on all the fun reading I missed out on and have quickly become addicted to challenges:)

I have an idea for a team name: The fire-breathing rubber duckies???
Anyone else have any ideas?

Ashley, congrats on earning the BSN. Lots of work for that I'm sure. I recently retired after 35 years as a respiratory therapist at a hospital with a level 1 trauma center here in Illinois. I'm not good with creative names though. We will need to wait and see what the others come up with and who wants to be captain. I hope Catherine and Nicole check in pretty soon.

Since this challenge is all about series, how about Captain Krunch and the SERIAL killers?

I'm here! Sorry, was having a bit of trouble finding the thread. :) Fairly new to this group, for all I've been lurking a while. First challenge here.

Have an office job and am unfortunately ill at the moment so I've been reading slower. For that reason I'll ask not to be captain. Will catch up though I'm sure!

Midnight Serial Killers?

So I am in US Central time.
I will roll before I head into work Friday morning. Between 5:30 and 6:00 am.

So we have two newbies to the challenge, Nicole and Ashley.
Shelia and I have both played before, so you are in good hands!
Catherine is still a no show. I will try to find her sign up thread and P.M her.

Pretty much, after I post our roll every week, and the stipulation, you all need to hunt for a book that meets the requirements for that #. (Either the series # ,or Alternate for that number..[see above]…
Post the book you choose, so I can start setting up a thread, this also helps other team Members if they are having trouble finding a book.
You then have until Thrusday to read that book, and post your info.(book, date read,rating, and small review)

...I think that covers most of it.

Ooh how exciting. I see that our discussion group name has already changed. How long till the dice roll now?

Abbie is going to roll tomorrow morning, although if anyone is wanting to get started tonight I can role at midnight if you'd like. I usually stay up late.

Hi Nicole. I forget where you are located. Captain Abbie is in the US and will be rolling the dice in about 13 or 14 hours from now according to her post # 29.

Still in bed this morning. I'm in Australia so it's already Friday morning here ;) I always forget how far we are in front.

Let's roll right on midnight, how many hours from now is that? I don't mind rolling as it will be daytime for me.

Captain Abbie will be the one rolling the dice I believe. There is really no rush about it since we have until next Thursday to finish our books. Whatever Abbie decides will be fine but I know from past experience that it gets really confusing if more that one person is rolling the dice.

I'm anxious to get started too. I've even got books lined up for every possibility.

I actually don't mind if someone else wants to roll. But I think if you do, then you will need to thorough the entire game so there is no confusion latter on.
We did that in my last game since one if our Members was in England, and reached Midnight before everyone else.
