What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

This book is a post apocalyptic fictional trilogy about a girl who survives a bus crash, with a boy, she falls in love, the town is under the mind control of something and her, the boy and a group of kids try to save them, at one point there is multiple trucks going around with a megaphone trying to trap the people who are desperate for food, water and shelter. Then there was another part where they were on a hill scouting the camp of the people who are mind controlled, there is a part where the boy and another kid get captured and put into cages, they break them out and run, at the end she finds out that he was mind controlled or he was a foot soldier for the mind controllers the entire time and they go their separate ways.

I think the book title is into darkness or into dark I’m pretty sure there is dark in the title, I know the second book had a worn down van on the cover with like bloody hands on the back windshield
