Jane is going to be livid. She has never approved of the relationship because there is no future in it. I'm not a fan of it either, but I like to see Maura happy.
Both Maura and Daniel were miserable and tried being apart for a year and their feelings still remain strong.
I’m not Catholic but have strong feelings about the Church’s celibacy requirement. That rule was born out of secular needs so I don’t take issue with him being a priest breaking that vow. I do have issues with Daniel wanting to continue in secret. Maybe him parking his car in her driveway openly was the author’s statement that he’s willing to give up being a priest.
Jane’s so out of line. She has her beliefs and has made them known to Maura on many occasions. Now it’s time to really be her friend and just be there for her.

I really loved that he parked in the driveway. It does make it feel like he's wanting to move forward in the relationship.
I've always had a soft spot for Daniel and he has always loved Maura. I like that fact that he is not trying to conceal their relationship anymore because Maura deserves better than to be the other woman so to speak. I also have strong feelings about the idea of celibacy, but I'm not Catholic so I cannot judge. I do think that 14 is too young for a boy to make that kind of choice and hope that Daniel comes to realize this. I'm sure his sister would not approve of his giving up his chance at love and family for her.
I sure wish Daniel would talk to his sister about this decision. I’d forgotten how young he was when he made that promise to God.
I missed him saying he was 14 when he decided to dedicate his life to the priesthood. Definitely too young to make a decision like that.I like Daniel and Maura together. Him leaving his car out for all to see will certainly get someone's attention. I'm sure we will read about them in future books if the author continues this series.
