Looking for a wilderness story of a school teacher, possibly in the Alaskan wilderness. She meets and falls in love with a local man. The story is very reminiscent of Benedict and Nancy Freedman’s tale “Mrs Mike”. I remember a closing line, “I miss him terribly, especially when the rain falls ...”

Eric, is it Tisha: The Story of a Young Teacher in the Alaskan Wilderness by Robert Specht? The description includes, "A heartwarming story in the tradition of Benedict Freedman's classic, Mrs. Mike".
