I really felt for Grace and everything she went through. I could see how torn she was with every decision she was making.
Maya is interesting to me because she cannot avoid hiding behind her snarkiness and cynicism. There is one point where she said what she really wants to say something like "Like me! Be my friend", but all that comes out is criticisms and put downs. I feel for her struggle!

As someone who hides behind being goofy and struggles with anxiety - which sometimes ends up pushing people away - I connect with her a lot. She can be frustrating, but I get that she can't help herself.

I got to know her a lot more as the story progressed, these were just my initial feelings on the characters of the book.
It’s funny because I feel Maya spoke the loudest to me even though she didn’t feel like the focal character of the book. I see a lot of myself there. Her abrasive attitude and constant need to put everyone at a distance is so very relatable.

100% agree - she felt so real to me.
