When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandyha Menon was honestly my dream book. From start to finish I was hooked; it is a little lengthy and took me awhile to read but the storyline had me devoted from the start. Dimple is eighteen and going to Stanford. She can’t wait to start school and more importantly a career. She sees no time for a boy distract her, but her mother thinks differently. Dimple was raised in a traditional Indian home so her mother is focused on getting a marriage arranged, making sure Dimple is always put together. What I love about Dimple’s character is that she is so independent and is so focused on her career; she motivates me! Rishi on the other hand is a people pleaser. His parents set him up with Dimple, thinking they’ll be a match made in heaven; and they are...eventually. Dimple wants to do her own thing and doesn’t want some boy holding her back from her career but Rishi is all in for Dimple. The characteristic that I love about Rishi is that he is so patient with Dimple. He waits for her, as much as he wants her right that very second they meet, he gets to know her and waits until she is ready to take their relationship further. I have always been a sucker for the romance genre so this book was a page turner and I wanted to live every moment this couple was having together.
