I thought I would make this post just to introduce what the group is for. There will also be a video version of this post, which you can find on the video page if you’d prefer to watch that.
So what is this group?
I decided to set myself the challenge of making my way through the backlist of the Stella Prize and shared my goal on my booktube channel. A couple of people said that they were interested in joining in and thus this group was made.
In case you don’t know, the Stella Prize is a literary award that celebrates the work of women writers in Australia. The prize started in 2013 and has been awarded every year since. Each year a longlist of 12 books is announced, and it’s those books that make up our backlist.
Of course, we’ve already read different books from the prize, so with each month I’ll create a poll with a few titles to vote on and you’ll be able to add your own suggestions too. If you’ve already read the selected title and don’t want to reread it, feel free to use the group to start up buddy reads with other members. Even if a book isn’t our selected read for the month, discussions will always be open if you have something to say.
The project is all about reading and discussing these incredible books, so there’s only one rule—be respectful.
