I nominate Milkman by Anna Burns. I have been meaning to read it, as I'm sure many others have been and would love to read it with everyone in June.
I second my Lovely Wife ...
Other two have read and immensely loved .
June nominations have started with a bang.💥

You can nominate one title :)

Is there any particular genre of nomination or it's just "anything goes"?I think we should decide at least a broad category like - fiction or non-fiction.
Hi Nick. .
We had introduced categories a few years ago.. and nominations ( as well as discussion) were minimal.
Even with this broad category ... Though nominations do occur ,
active participation is not the norm , even by the person who suggests.
Next month we will try with a specific genre and gauge the response.

I'd like to nominate Calling Sehmat by Harinder Sikka. This is the story of a Kashmiri Spy which we witnessed in the popular movie Raazi. Non-fiction.
I would like to nominate The Autobiography of an Unknown Indian by Nirad C. Chaudhuri.I would also like to second It's Not About the Burqa: Muslim Women on Faith, Feminism, Sexuality and Race by Mariam Khan. I have heard about the book and now I need an reason to read it.

HERE ARE THE RULES --->
★ Please suggest a worthy title for the group to read as a whole.
★ Please avoid nominating if you feel you won't be able to read and discuss the book in the thread.
A few more simple rules:
★ No promotions of any kind
★ Please avoid books already read by the group. You may access the group bookshelf to see the list of books read here:
Please don't make History repeat itself
★ Try and nominate books that can easily be read in a month. ( this means chunksters with 700 or more pages better be avoided).
★ Moderators have the final say in selecting a book for the poll.
We will put up the polls around May 15th.
Eagerly awaiting your suggestions. Let's get this summer rollin'!
