It actually made me suspicious of her. It was as though she had an experience of arsenic poisoning in the past !
I kept asking myself why she wouldn't let arsenic in the house. Did someone in her family die from poisoning in the past? I wish the author would have cleared this up.
I kept waiting to figure out what had happened to her to make her so adamant about banning arsenic from the home. I, too, wish Thompson had cleared this up.
It seems even odder that Frank never asked her. Or did he? I was listening to the audiobook so I might have missed it.
I agree, Veronica. If I remember the scene correctly, she ended the conversation and he didn’t pursue further questions. It seemed like a natural next inquiry.
I was so curious about the reason for banning the poison from the house! Too bad we'll never know :(
